OOC: The poison worsened the damage, therein making the total damage 2 instead of 1.

Okay, D'arqo sees an image of this pesky critter jumping upon him, and manages to get out a yelp before passing out.

It is clear to everyone that this poison induces drowsiness. Who knew an Elf could snore so loudly?

Ruarc - Initiative: [1d6] = 6

Ruarc looses a bellow as he leaps to attack the spider, swinging his bastard sword in a deadly arc.

Ruarc - bastard sword (THAC0 20): to hit [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20, damage [2d4+3] = 4+3 = 7, ([2d8+3] = 6+3 = 9 vs. Large)

That'll get em!
-----
Ruarc delivers an astonishingly powerful blow, goring the spider in the abdomen. It doesn't even have time to moan. It's lifeless face disgusts you, and makes you wonder if there's a nest nearby. You collectively want to get out of there...That sleeping poison seems nasty. How are you going to transport the sleeping D'arqo anyways?

Also, who's down on hit points, and how much do they have?

Ruarc looks about for what he needs to concoct an antidote to the spider's poison, including possibly, the corpses of the spiders themselves.

OOC How long would he need to concoct a remedy?
Ruarc is at 11 of 12 hp.

The poison is pretty basic, so I'll say you can find a remedy nearby. I'll say D'arqo will be awake the next morning. You can tell the remedy helps immediately, as where he was previously pale and snoring obnoxiously, color returns to his face, and the snoring becomes calmer.

Ruarc looks around to hopefully gather enough herbs for a few more draughts of the spider poison antidote concoction. He then sees to the horses, making sure they are watered, fed, and secured for the night, and takes his bow and quiver from the side of his horse.

Shouldering the quiver, he says,"I'll take the first watch."

Okay, the night passes uneventfully, and mid-way through the next day, the Elf wakes up, dazed. Through cure spells and herbal healing, you are all back to full by now. Then comes the fifth day of travel. The day is going along pretty well, and you're in the forest pretty deep. It's balmy, and sprinkles of rain blow in pleasantly. But suddenly, a random swarm of insects comes along, and begins to viciously bite at...1-Ruarc, 2-Reilik, 3-Scotty, or 4-D'arqo.

Ruarc. (man these creatures hate you) The insects viciously start swarming, biting, and stinging you, and everyone hears mischievous laughter directly above them.

Teehee! The giant man is itchy!

A shrill voice says. Initiative and actions?

Initiative: [1d6] = 1

Scotty whips out his bow and takes a shot at the figure in the tree.

Bow shot [1d20+2] = 9+2 = 11 , Damage [1d6] = 5 , +2 for dex bonus

I believe Ruarc is a bit to busy trying to get insects off him to worry about firing a bow (also 2HP a round damage is sustained, I think). The stinging is overwhelming him. As for Scotty, his arrow hurls through the air, but the tiny, almost humanoid creature quickly flies out of the way.

You'll have to do better than that, big person.

He whips out a miniscule bow, which you can hardly see. He fires it, and two needle-like arrows shoot forth. 1-2=Reilik, 3-4=Scotty, and 5-6=D'arqo.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4008662/

The first one whizzes past Scotty, but the second one hits D'arqo right in the stomach, dealing one point of damage. D'arqo, you feel as is you've been pricked by a needle. And now it is your turn to go.

OOC does Ruarc get a chance to save against the damage, distraction, or both?

I don't believe so, based on the description if the spell. It'll last for five rounds or until the enemy is felled.

The critter is going on a 4.

Ack! the Elf yelps again. By the Greenwood, I am tired of being stung! He kicks his horse forward some 20 feet and jumps off, unfuling his sling.

HP adjusted.

Are you going to roll to hit with that sling? I believe you get two shots a round? I'm not entirely sure.

Don't know about 2E, but 1 for 1E. Didn't figure I'd have time this round but I certainly won't turn it away!

[1d20] = 19 +1 dex=20 OORAH!

[1d4] = 1 +1=2

Take THAT, imp!

Okay! The sling bullet shoots, grazing the weird creature in the wing, and it flies off, fearfully yelling things.

Ouch! I almost died! Ouch! The stupid humans couldn't take a joke. It's going to take months to recover from such an injury!

Ruarc, you will have taken 10 points of damage--a hefty chunk. Will the party attempt to stay and rest? You have one more day until your destination.

The Elf is insufferably pleased with himself, and struts back to his horse. No need to thank me, Friends. Wait 'til we catch our quarry, then I'll really cut loose.

I guess you continue along. And Ruarc may have a healing spell from Reilik for today and the next day.

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4010605/

Take back three today and four tomorrow.

The next day, everyone is walking along, and the woods finally start to clear. You feel the balmy breezes of the ocean on your face. You pass some merchants going the opposite direction, and eventually, signs of civilization start to spring up. Eventually, you can see the outskirts of Wabbleton Beach, the ultimate party city. You see the iconic Wabbleton Lighthouse, guiding sailors. But you don't continue that way. You continue a bit South to where Teritu is located. What do you do when you arrive?

Scotty uses his new make-up kit to apply a disguise, attempting to alter his appearance enough so as not to be easily recognized later.

Disguise [1d100] = 22

He will approach a street urchin, claiming to be a noble, offering a silver piece for any information about two sisters, Agatha and Camilla. If no information is known, he will offer another silver piece for facilitating contact with the local thieves guild.

Acting [1d100] = 83
