Demn rubs his chin and says, "Can you provide us a mule with saddlebags, rations, and water?"

Alfonzo tires to think of other items to add to their growing list.

"The caged bird, for sure. Rations and clean drinking water are a must. Iron pitons and a good hammer, maybe?"

After thinking a bit longer.....

"The fantastic items you mentioned earlier.......would any of those be available for us to use during our explorations?"

The ranger is happy to take advantage of the lodging provided before they set out.

“For payment, we can offer some coin for your services. We don't have much use for coin, but we can make a fair offer.

“And how much is this fair amount you proffer?” asked Orando with a puff of his pipe. “We would like half of that upfront.”

“With preparations in full swing for the raiders, you must have a good idea of when they arrive. When is that?”

Thinking how boring it would be stay overnight in a barracks, Orando said: “I would like to stay in one of your town tavern inns. What do you recommend as the most… entertaining?”

“We would like a hireling - perhaps a previous explorer who knows the tunnels thus far - to carry our equipment, as well as vials of holy water, oil flasks topped with cloth, a ten-foot pole, parchment and ink for mapping, and any magic scrolls your town wizards may have lying about,” said Orando at the request for expedition equipment.
