"Train copies," Garett replies instantly as she activates the general alert aboard ship, which sends all available crew to their duty stations. She immediately lifts the ship and points it on an initial course sixty degrees left of a direct bearing to the fort. She climbs to a thousand meters, levels off, and flies straight ahead until she's just about parallel to the fort, and then she turns sharply right and heads inbound, timing the maneuver so that she will touch down in precisely five minutes from liftoff.

As you hit alarm, you get a call from the gray car. ‘Ah, sir, is there a chance, I thought the captain wanted to use gray car.”

Hiro ignores Sir Lt Dyvers, instead transmits to the entire crew and recruits, both on the ground an on board The Train to the Stars: "Everyone the LZ is adjacent to this building, on the side opposite the courtyard. Marco, carry the package, lead everyone to the LZ and get them loaded. Gunnar, make sure our patron doesn't get lost on the 10 meter journey to the LZ. Monte and Lorraine follow Marco and cover the extraction. I am last man out. Pickup is 4 minutes out."

Gunnar Thunarssen yanks the phone from the wall as he moves to cover Sir Lt Dyver as they head for the landing zone and extraction.

Lorraine doesn't wait for anyone to say otherwise, but puts a bolt from her rifle into the comms, making sure they're at least temporarily out of commission. She then acknowledges the order to follow Marco out and cover extraction with a simple, "Aye-aye" and moves out with her rifle at the ready and in a crouch; keeping her head on a swivel and covering for all those coming out behind her.....

At the Fort

Everyone evacuates to the assigned area as ordered. about 1 minute after the first shot, just as you found a position and relaxed a moment there is a 5 round session of the 37mm gun. 1 shot every 3 seconds. then it quiets.

No movement from the building you left or coming into the fort.

As the team take up position at the LZ, Hiro makes eye contact with each of them: Marco, Lorraine, Monte & Gunnar. He looks to see if any of them are injured, if they need anything or whether they have anything to bring to his attention.


After making sure the rest of the ground team is safe at the LZ, Hiro peeps around the back corner of the building 5. He does his best to keep out of sight as he keeps a close eye on the courtyard and, most especially, anyone that appears ready to enter or exit Building 5.

The team on the ground look up and fom the approximate north, the Ship is making its way towards you and the fort.

From your vantage point you can see a wheel mounted projective weapon on the beach being operated, pointing away from you, watch by 75 other people.

There are no other gathering of people besies yours below.

The loght turns from green to red and the vechicle exits.

In her no nonsense way, Naddie goes out sideways and exchutes a straight down drop.

She lands on top of a nearby tent and grounds the forward before evening out the grav power.

The door opens and seemingly in a prearranged move, Nevri, Dundee and Ophelia exit and move foreward, aft and one climbs to the top of the vechicle providing overwatch. They are carrying shotguns.

The door opens and seemingly in a prearranged move, Nevri, Dundee and Ophelia exit and move foreward, aft and one climbs to the top of the vechicle providing overwatch. They are carrying shotguns.

Garett eases the Train into a hover and powers up the ventral sandcasters. At this range, the defensive devices will make superior shotguns, and their aiming is much less finicky than the lasers'.

...but just smiles, seeing his crewmates jocky to stand overwatch, Hiro enters and takes a head count, making sure no one was left behind. He arms himself with his SMG with grenade launcher, from the shipping container marked Boarding Kit.

Once the rear door closes Hiro announces loudly to the group. "Seats everyone. Monte, if you can, take over the helm and get us back to The Train to the Stars at best possible speed."

Handing his heavy bolt action rifle to Lorraine, Hiro says "take this and take the seat next to the port door. If we take fire, perhaps you can silence it." She sees the rifle is a typical large caliber hunting rifle, but it has a ruggedized military electronic sight on it, magnifying, infra-red and image intensifying, as well as a bipod. The magazine is loaded with military grade armor piercing rounds.

Sitting, buckled in, Hiro ses the package Marco holds, and says "Smooth operation. Well done."

Hiro catches Gunnar's eye and smiles, thinking he did well shepherding the patron. "Perhaps we did not wager, but I think I owe you a few drinks. Your were right. I was wrong."

Hiro sits back waiting to arrive at The Train to the Stars.

Naddie while getting up from the chair of the car. "I have not driven something like this for about 10 years, sorry for the bump boss."

Everyone sits down, straps in and drivers change, the vehicle ascends and pulls into the grav garage.
