By my reckoning, time elapsed from capturing Fendon at the club to going to the hotel, to buying weapons, to this hotel discussion is maybe 3-4 hours? If Mielo (or whomever this victim has actually is) returned already to find his room robbed, they likely have Terry’s face on camera. They likely haven’t connected the dots to the rest of us from the club cameras…but they will eventually. In fact, Terry’s mug showing entering Mielo’s room would likely confuse them as they’d be expecting Fendon’s. It may be possible the room tenant has not yet gotten back from the club.

Since Fendon claims Syndicate members came in on the ship we crewed and played games Fendon organized, can we or, specifically, Rando validate Mielo’s identity?

Was Alphonse working as crew to get here?

Would he have passenger details in his PDA from stewarding?

As Alphonse is making his way around the bar, he spots Dmitri at the view port overlooking the crater with it's defensive weapon firings at rockfalls, the burning sun, etc. just taking it all in. He's in rapt fascination standing with what looks like ice water in his hand.

Without turning to Alphonse, Dmitri says, "To think I spent 9 months crewing ships to get here. Because I lost my salary to Rando's ex-boss, I ended up effectively working for passage...to get to this murderous hell-hole. I hope there really are opportunities to make some good money here. Look at that, fascinating yet mortifying all in one!

My working assumption was always the player’s mustering out benefits are what they had left after the journey from “way back home” to the game region. I would imagine some combo of paid and working passages, maybe even as crew on some legs of the trip. The last month was definitely paid passage over multiple trips.

You’re getting close to 24 hours since arrival on Port Royal. The evenings events are about 4 hrs so let’s call it 4am local.

All of you would recognize Mielo as one of the passengers on the last leg of the trip. He was flying High and frequently at Fendon’s gaming table. Dimitri was working crew (lost his pay gambling), Rando was Fendon’s bodyguard while Terry and Alphonse were middle passengers.

Lasher is nothing but a hamlet in a poisonous hell hole. If we go there there is nowhere to hide. With no ship we will be at the mercy of whoever takes us or the settlement's transports. I mean those guys need one free-trader a fortnight. Piss them off and you aren't getting out. If we want to get money to pay for air, Food, etc. we need somewhere that has jobs that aren't run by people that know everyone!

We need to find a decent patron because the population out here doesn't amount to a small city and the opportunities for the likes of us are slim to none. The Government is basically chaos with religious overtones. Nowhere makes stuff - even the ports don't have the industrial clout to manufacture the components for the ships that they maintain and assemble.

i.e. Port Royal has under 10,000 population (and a measureable percentage of those are employed in the Hotels and Casinos we've visited) and supposedly runs Onreon with its population of over 100,000; Onrean clearly disagrees as it's factionalised to bits. Lasher is a wasteland with a village. Wurnish is a religious nuthouse that doesn't even have a decent spaceport.

The description of Port Royal as a bunch of criminal syndicates cannot be correct - they run the government! They may be violent and tyranical - but as they write/enforce the laws they aren't criminal by their own definition.

Do any of Mielo’s files implicate him as a criminal? Dmitri would be interested in verifying Fendon’s characterization of Mielo.

Also, Does Dmitri think he could 1) mirror everything of interest from Mielo’s pad to his own, then 2) break the Link between his and Mielo’s and go “airplane mode”, while retaining the mirror files and data for future referrence/use, then 3) re-establish Fendon’s link to Mielo’s and download the mirror again, and 4) delete one or two small files deep in the Certificate’s file structure that would invalidate the Certificate in a not very obvious manner that might be missed by Fendon until some future time?

The software and hardware Fendon used to spoof Mielo's pad are completely illegal. Posessing a mirror of a ship's Master's Credential from Mielo's pad is illegal should it be discovered.

Without using Fendon's equipment you could copy any files over from Mielo's or Fendon's pad now that you've unlocked them both. There will be evidence of that which you may try and conceal. The duplicate Master's credentials can't be moved from Fendon's equipment and you need the spoofing equipment to mimic Mielo's biometric signatures to use it when the time comes.

As of now Fendon has done a stealthy hack of Mielo's pad and only taken the credential. The plan he outlined was to steal the credits from the available accounts on the pad when the banks open then dump the pad where it will be found making this look like a credit theft.
