Hi All,

Messages flying fast and furious so trying to catch up on the action.

Accelerator Rifle is a book 4 addition so not part of this game (at least not off the shelf in the store anyway).

I believe the 81 rules have the same equipment but fixed some problems with the pricing.

Trying to keep it simple & got complicated already with shopping :D

Just want to make sure I understand concealment of armor properly. The rule book seems to indicate that mesh is a thinner synthetic or leather covering (with embedded mesh). Cloth is thick ballistic material.

Am I to understand that mesh can be concealed while cloth is more bulky and therefore harder to go discreetly armored?

Cloth is described as 'Ballistic cloth (bullet proof) jacket'. So about as concealable as the contemporary models I'd have thought.

Hi Guys-

From Book 1 cloth is described as:

Cloth— A heavy duty jacket/vest covering the upper torso and legs, tailored from ballistic cloth. Ballistic cloth absorbs impact energy, distributing the blow over the body of the target, and resulting in (possibly) severe bruising.

I always visualize it more overt than concealed - something like this


Having said that the game was rolled out before many textile advances existed so also would say you can get more concealable cloth, not quite as effective and more expensive.

Not immediately obvious other than adding some bulk but would show up on a scanner like airport security today.

I'll throw something in houserules. Call it TL11 cloth-1 effectiveness, cost 750 credits, weight 2kg (when not worn)

Was Dmitri able to purchase a dagger/knife or two made of advanced materials that would be difficult to detect in a boot sheath?

Sure, ceramic dagger 25 credits.

Having said that, today's airport scanners can detect objects on a person whether they are metallic or not. Port Royal's tech level is as advanced as your society back home (and way more advanced than our airports) so expect their scanning equipment is at least as good as Imperial Standard.

Lower tech world wouldn't be a problem.

OK - So my initial concerns are
  • Who are these sharks?
    • If we pass Fendon over doesn't that just put our names in the frame for interfering?
    • If we let him go, doesn't he just deflect his own failures onto our interference?
    • if we keep him, we need to ensure he's implicated in whatever we do.
  • Why are these sharks after him?
    • Are they also after us by association?
    • If we do go to the Hotel, will they be looking for us? or for Fendon?
    • Will their goons have access to the rooms or just to the public spaces?
    • Could we break into Fendon's room from an adjacent room?
    • Not all of us have been seen with Fendon. Terry left via the front door before everything kicked off. He is (as far as the pub cameras are concerned) clean.
    • Would the money and pad actually exist or is it just a ploy to get away from us?

Don’t have a clue who Fendon’s sharks are or how to deal with them. But Fendon seems to fear them….so play on that fear.

I was thinking Terry should be clean. Would you be happy getting the 20k and a computer out of Fendon? What exactly does he owe you anyway for the month of bodyguard duty?

Hi guys, general OOC is fine for planning, shooting the breeze, etc. when you're group is alone or in a private setting.

At the moment you all are in a public alley with Fendon so assume everything you guys have posted here was said out loud to each other and him.

Fendon looks scared witless.

Please bring the dialogue back to the game thread.
