"There!" Dela points to their right, where Dree spots an orcish warrior hiding behind a clump of bushes about thirty feet away.

Following Dela's direction, Dree readies her bow and nocks an arrow pointing it in the direction of the hiding orc, "Tell him to come out," she says to Dela.
Re: 004 - On the Wagoner's Road
The orc rises and runs northward, carrying a spear.
"That's one of those who attacked us," Dela exclaims.

Mirek pulls his bow, nocks an arrow, and helps him speed up with an arrow. Or he will once combat starts.

Re: 004 - On the Wagoner's Road
Aden, who is determined to ride behind to provide rear cover, sees what is unfolding ahead of him and spurs his horse to the side away from the running Orc and moves up to flank any ambushers on that side.
OOC: I'm envisioning the Orc in hiding on the left side of trail and so Aden would move to the right and loop up and around to flank any ambushers on the right side. If I've got it backwards, please reverse it for me.

The orc is north of the group, so to the right, as they are riding west.Eris wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:31 pm Aden, who is determined to ride behind to provide rear cover, sees what is unfolding ahead of him and spurs his horse to the side away from the running Orc and moves up to flank any ambushers on that side.

The orc lets out a yell as Mirek's arrow finds it's mark on a running target over a hundred yards away and at the shortbow's limit. He bounds over a rise and disappears. No one else is in sight.

Mirek will ride after him, not coming over the rise at the same place. He’s ready for more Orcs, his bow in one hand and ready to pull another arrow.

Amistad
Dismounts, picks up his javelin that he threw. He looks down the shaft thinking it must have a few kinks in it that makes it less streamlined and accurate. He snaps it in half across his knee.
"Right. Is the well nearby? Let's fill up and be on our way."

Amistad's javelin fell thirty yards short of the orc warrior. It was on track, but out of range.

Dree
Seeing the orc flee from others attacks she does not loose her arrow. Though she remains tense arrow ready for now, waiting to see if there are others in hiding.

Re: 004 - On the Wagoner's Road
The group spreads out on a east-west line, facing north, with each rider thirty feet apart. Aden is furthest west, with Amistad and Dree to his right. Mirek is behind the others, as he was furthest south when the orc appeared.
No other orcs are in sight.

After several minutes waiting for another ambush, Dree will return the arrow to her quiver and look to Dela, "Shall we continue onward?"

Mirek had a lot of ground to cover, so he's with the others by now. Player's choice on where he is in the lineup...terrymixon wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 11:19 pmOOC: This seems to have been missed. Mirek notices a thin cloud of dust drifting up from near where the wounded orc vanished over the rise. The cloud is about fifty yards ahead of the group.
