Log - PCs Tracking

This is a daily log of the PCs current HP, budo/shugendo gains, on gains, and other things. I'll try to keep this current at all times.

Yes, it was Haruto. Fixed, thanks. Had that in the wrong column. You guys gave me a tough mental challenge by starting new PCs at the same time with 3-syllable names both beginning with H.

Q#1: Your log still says Budo 7. But if we're level 2, you awarded to reach at least Budo 10. How much was that award and what's the current Budo?

Q#2: Your log doesn't include the 2 On for playing the Samisen for the Kuge.

Q#3: Your log says 6.5 for Kentaro for the bandit fight, but I calculated previously as 7.0. (Probably obviated by Q#1 anyway)

killed two Level 1 classic bushi (2+2) and one rabble (1), attack on Level 3 bushi (4/2=2)

Do we have any awards of group or personal status as part of the interactions with the Kuge? (Sadly, I suspect not, since we were dismissed.)

(I have him at 33 On and 7.5 Budo)

Q#2: Did he get any Shugendo for completing the trip to Kofu, or is he still at Shugendo .6?

Q#3: He didn't receive any On for heralding the Kuge at Kofu, providing the letters introducing him to his family, or completing the journey. Is that right?

Q#1 - Everyone who leveled was raised to the minimum 10 budo/shugendo.
Q#2 - Updated the sheet for the samisen playing.
Q#1 - Yes, the 10 budo for Level 2 takes it over the top. But that was some nice budo earning along the way!
Thinking it over, I think the On award covers being temporarily part of the kuge's group. I agree, there's no permanent status change.
I have Kentaro's On at 25. Initial On - 10. Visit to shrine - 8 On (probably way too much, looking back). Letter writing - 2. Samisen playing -2. Enter Kofu with kuge -3.

Q#1 - Fixed.
Q#2 - No shugendo as yet, but there will be if Haruto casts spells in the inn tonight.
Q#3 - The Honor Bound module awards On only to bushi for accompanying the kuge into Kofu. But I'm guessing that the writer assumed that only buke would be high enough caste to be in the kuge's immediate entourage. In other words, he didn't anticipate that a samurai caste PC would be a shugenja. Also, the module has an NPC bushi as the kuge's herald. (I killed him off offscreen to make the kuge the bandits' captive. His dai-sho were supposed to be the main treasure from that scene, but you guys did an end run and made big bank on all of that armor you looted. ) Anyway, as a member of the immediate entourage, I think Haruto should get the same 3 On as the bushi. But none for the letter writing, because this time there was no "defeating" a higher caste character involved in the writing attempt.

I'm not sure that Taisho's initial On score on his sheet is correct. At 32, it looks kind of high. Please let me know and revise the daily log sheet, if needed.

You awarded 10 on for the letter contest, not 2. That takes it to 33, not 25.

The value of the "artwork produced" is 10 silver. That was the ninyo's (somewhat) high price for having the letter delivered to Shinano was 10 silver. So the letter is worth 10 silver, and Kentaro gets 10 On.

Okay. So that puts Haruto at 20 On, .6 Shugendo.

Thanks for catching that. On second thought, I think more On needs to be awarded for the accomplishment of escorting the kuge to the capital. In the module, the PCs just walk into the city with him, and he didn't express any thanks or acknowledge the PCs at all. The PCs are just seen escorting him. 3 On. You guys rescued the kuge and guarded him on a three-day road trip. He publicly thanked you for that (not in so many words, but he did). Which is not something a kuge would normally due, except to another kuge. Bumping it up to 11 On for the bushi and Haruto. I think that's realistic, compared to the examples of On awards given in the rules. My initial On awards for visiting the shrine (8) and the writing contest (10) may have been over-inflated. (Although a low ronin winning a literacy contest against a middle samurai is a pretty good accomplishment). But those figures are nothing compared to the example of 45 On earned for a duel.

Looking at "10 On for level 2" is one thing. After that, it is going to require 50, 100, 500, and 1000... I think your On awards are not too low looking to that future.

Oops, On on the 1st tab doesn't connect with On on the 2nd tab. The 2nd tab is right with 20:

Here's the marching order for the pilgrimage to the Raijin shrine. The highway is wide enough to walk 3-4 abreast (or fight that way, if it comes to it).

Akemi intended to take the rear, but she saw that their were not fighters in the front, she moved up. If the marchers follow each other as closely as possible, Buru is 23 yards behind Haruto. The porters with their shoulder-poles, and the horse and the oxen, add significant length to the line.

If you want to change anything, let me know. The oxen have to walk single file, but the people could walk 2 or 3 abreast. (Each person is a yard behind the person or animal in front).
