Requested Roll [1d20]=18
Korin looks at the gear in the chest "Might be more use n we'd 'spect I say we split tha torches. Anyone with no rope should take it an them iron spikes. I dun got a flail already an a mace so I dun really need them. So I'll take a flask."

Richard
Stays well away from the chest and not in front of the chest when it is opened. He is not trying to peek into it.
As he is weak, he does not bother to take anything from the chest.
He Rolls 17
Ah, yes, that time I fainted. Now I remember
says Richard to no one in particular.
Do we split the money evenly between us and mark it in the inventory?
Can Richard at least appraise the value of the fire gem?

"I have some rope already but will take this too, we might need it. What is in those flasks?"
He also takes the spikes (how many?) and 4 torches. Sheet updated.

Re: Chapter 04: Torpor and tremendum
I would say yes split the money evenly if possible. I have added 1 flask to my inventory and 1 torch assuming "a few" = 4

Richard adds 94 gold coins to his ledger.
Tiny, Korin, Eaton and Thorelf can add 95 each.

Re: Chapter 04: Torpor and tremendum
Richard finally gives up on the fire gem, puts it in his pouch, follows Korin to the western door and wonders why he seems to hear virtual twenty sided dice rolling around.

Thorelf
Requested roll: [1d20]=14
95 gp added
"I agree Korin, let's keep on moving. Still no clue as how to get out of here however."
"We should be extra careful from now on since the witch and her minions could be close. Let's approach the door silently and have a listen, shall we?"
If Korin agrees, Thorelf puts his ear to the "western" door out in the "tables & chairs" room, and invites Korin to do the same.

Room 22
Korin
takes one of the flasks from the wooden chest - it is a bottle of wine! Two other flasks remain in the chest. When rummaging through the contents, you also found that
the exact number of spikes was: 8
and the exact number of torches: 6
Richard
when grasping the fire-coloured gem to put it away, guesstimates that it might be in the value range of maybe 40-60 G.P.
Awaiting Eaton's 1d20 roll before responding to your exit intentions.

Re: Chapter 04: Torpor and tremendum
Richard wonders lazily whether he could use all those feathers to disguise himself as a chicken. Then brushes away the thoughts, as he recalls that disguises seldom work against ominous dice, listening instead to see if he can hear another virtual twenty sided dice rolling through the mana-sphere

Why, master Korin! What preposterous notion. The very idea. I mean to say. Well ok, sort of.
More importantly though, I am scanning the manaverse for ominous signs and evil portents .
Come on, now.
Surely you have felt it too.
Something is happening to us at this very instance.
There is a dicey feeling in the air.

I dun hear no dice rollin sound but I had heard that rumblin from above figured them god be playin some sorta game. Kinda like goblin head bowlin."

Re: Chapter 04: Torpor and tremendum
Richard
Perhaps it is just for us sensitive of the magic-user class to hear the portents then, Good Master Korin.
The signs are as clear to me as a dog sniffing a person around the corner.
It can tell his weight and what kind of shoes he is wearing, as I can tell what kind of dice and how it rolls.
Sometimes I can even tell whom it rolls for. At the moment, there is a whooshing sensation of expectancy hovering over Eaton over there.
I cannot tell the colour of the dice, though. That would be ridiculous.
I don't believe in gods. Of course, I can hear them. They obviously exist. I just don't believe in them. Treacherous entities, they are.
They've got it in for us, you mark my words.
Goblin head bowlin? Would that be goblins rolling our heads, or us rolling theirs? If the latter, then you must teach it to me some day.
In the meantime, could you tell me what that wine in the chest is like? Does it have the same look as the undrinkable piss on the table?

Re: Chapter 04: Torpor and tremendum
Korin chuckles "Eh, goblin head bowlin is somethin us dwarves came up with. Using goblin heads to knock down wooden pins. Yah add up knocked down pins fer points after ten rounds top score wins. Everyone wins cept them goblins."

Well then, Master Korin, were we to find ten goblins here, you could explain the rules, and we could have some sport right here. Lacking in sticks, we could set up the bottles of wine instead.

Korin chuckles "Yeah bottles work too, just dun hurl the head too hard at em and break em. Ya know cause of how thick them goblin skulls can be."
Yes I am taking the liberty of saying that dwarves invented bowling using goblin heads. No different than Gandalf and that story about how golf was invented.

Thorelf
"Boys, I hate to interrupt your philosophical argument, I really do. It kinda reminds me of happy old days at the mansion. Sitting by the fireplace, discussing poetry, gently caressing each other's hands and... where was I? Yes, right. Korin, doesn't the bottom of that chest look a little to sturdy? As if there was a hidden compartment there or something?"

Korin stops talking about goblin head bowling and focuses on the chest, tapping on the bottom to see how it sounds. "Hmm well eh it could have a secret compartment Thorelf. Lemme check it a bit more."
what roll do we need here?
