Allissa

"I hear you! Are you okay? How did you open the door?!?" It physically pains the thief to have to ask how to open a door. :D

The Lair Of Mystegri
Godsday, 26th of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Buggy

Whiskey shouts out the answer to the door riddle, causing it to swing open again so the formerly stumped Allissa can finally enter the room.

This 30'x30' area is also completely empty, save for a single large table in its center.

Looking around at the floor, there seems to have been more in here at one time, as scuffs and scrapes from other furniture are evident in places.

There are no other doors in or out of this room, secret or otherwise.

Looking at the table you see 20 wooden pegs of varying colors laying scattered across its surface. There are also a pair of empty holes right next to each other in the very center of the table. Three words are roughly scratched into the surface of the table. Do Not Guess! It would seem that 2 pegs need to be placed into the holes, but which ones?

Whiskey

Well the two colors of the card deck are Black and Red. I can't find any other clues around here so I am thinking the clues may carry over from the previous room. Any ideas, Allissa?

Allissa

Still pouting from the riddle, she pauses to take in the room. "Good to see you alive and well, Whiskey. I thought for sure that your sword flaring up meant there was something nearby." Speaking of, is the sword still flaming?

She looks over the table and the apparent missing other furniture. "Don't guess. Huh." Allissa ponders for a moment, then speaks. "Well, that lock thing on the door was related to the obelisks, and one red orb lit up as well as a grey one. Unfortunately, there were eight orbs to light. I think, and it pains me to say, but I think we need more information. Maybe the red and black make sense, or maybe there are 18 orbs of varying color and we need to use the two not found. I'm sure I can think of ten more guesses, but they are all just that. Guesses."

"Have you touched any of the pegs?" She asks while visually examining them, checking for dust on some, or dust outlines. She'll examine the holes as well, maybe some color rubbed off on the edges.

To confirm, the list is just for us, it doesn't exist on the table?

The sword is not flaming. It is giving off a bright bluish light. There is no list of colors anywhere. That is simply a player handout.

Allissa looks around at the scuffs on the stone floor, finding an interesting note roughly scratched into one corner. It reads simply: What’s My Name

Looking over the table, the pegs and surface show some signs of dust, but none of this appears to have been touched in a long, long time. Allissa finds a tiny scrape of what looks like blue paint on the edge of one of the holes. Then she finds a fleck of orange paint on the table, then some brown, is that some red? The base of the pegs are all slightly scratched, offering no further aid.

Allissa

I just saw this. :D Whiskey was in such a rush, she even skipped letters in her name. :D To be fair, I've been absent. Again.

Allissa is pacing around, formulating and thinking, when she notices Whiskey grab two pegs and act. "Wait! No!" She cringes and moves for the entrance door.

Whiskey presses her luck again, ignoring the clear warning to refrain from a simple guess. She choses the red and black theme from the last door riddle and pays the price dearly for her random guess. As expected, sticking the wrong pegs into the wrong holes starts a chain reaction of bad results. First, a burning current between the pair of pegs suddenly appears, locking her hands to the pegs she still grasps. The strange magical energy courses through her body in a very unpleasant way, bulging her eyes and making her hair stand up straight. Blood starts to trickle from her eyes, nose, and mouth, and though she tries to scream from the pain, no sound comes out of her. 8 dam (You can try a [6d6] STR check each round until you either break free or perish.) :?

Several loud cracking and popping noises start to fill the room after Allissa shouts her unheeded warning. Unable to stop her counterpart before she tries her guess, which obviously was incorrect, Allissa wisely sprints towards the door as large cracks in the stone walls, ceiling, and floor begin to develop.

Allissa

She looks up as the cracks start to appear all around her, and then calls back to Whiskey. "Let's go!" After a strange tensing, she does just that. As Allissa sees Whiskey she gasps. "Oh, Crap. No time, come on!"

Allissa races for the door, judging the cracks on the floor and ceiling to avoid problems.

The noise from the crumbling room grows to a deafening crescendo.

Seeing her comrades plight, Allissa sprints through the door and into the next room, which also appears to be crumbling down around her, with large chunks of stone now falling from the ceiling between her and the exit. (a [4d6] Dex check will get you out unharmed)

With a feat of strength beyond her normal means, Whiskey is somehow able to tare her bare hands free from the magical current holding her fast to the table. She hears Allissa bail from the room, so she attempts to follow her while massive chunks of rock rain down upon her. (I will need a Save vs. Breath to dodge the falling debris in this room, then a [5d6] Dex check to make it through the next room unharmed, as the condition is most assuredly getting worse)

The lithe Elf slides through the door into the cave and quickly turns to spot Cealwyn. "Where are you? She's not going to make it!"

"Get a rope."

Whiskey sprints under the falling rock and debris, getting hit with several chunks of rubble on her way through the door.

By the time she gets to the next room, the entire ceiling collapses upon her, crushing her under tons or rock that squash the life out of her.

Allissa makes it out into the main cave again, finding a severed human leg laying on the floor near the treasure pile that she is pretty sure wasn't there before. Dust and rubble pour out into the chamber, but there is no indication that Whiskey has made it out.

Allissa

"GODS DAMMIT! The Invisible elf forgets her stealth training for a moment as she processes what just went down. She moves towards the door she just came from, hoping to spot movement or hear a call.

After a moment of excavation, she stops and turns to the leg. Is it armored, or bare? "Cealwyn!?"

She takes a second to look at the outside orb area, to see if something has changed. And to scan around the cave again.

Now covered in dust from the cloud that filled the room, Allissa moves back to the doors. There is no call, and there is no room, only stone rubble where the room once was.

She looks at the human sized leg again, which is clothed rather similarly to what Cealwyn had on. It is not severed cleanly, but instead appears either ripped off or bitten from the original body. She cant tell if it is the remains of the ranger or not when a powerful blast of hot, wet air suddenly fills the chamber.

"LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE CHOSE POORLY!"

The familiar voice seems to be coming from the misty cloud that accompanies the rushing water roaring past the opening behind the waterfall.

There is no sign that Cealwyn is anywhere around.

Allissa

She freezes for a moment, now less confident in her assessment and alone. The thief glances down and notices that she is less invisible than before, covered in dust.

"Mystegri? It's me, Many. I have returned as you asked."

By habit, she judges the distance between her, the narrow back door, and the waterfall. "And you are right, someone did choose poorly. What is that place? Why were there colored pegs? And why did the door open at all?"

The entire chamber starts to heat up noticeably, the mist that hangs in the air everywhere becoming hot on exposed skin.

The cloud of mist at the opening of the waterfall starts to materialize into a more solid figure, a figure Many has seen before. There is a little space between the figure and the secret side entrance, and a little light still shines in around the growing form from outside of the larger opening.

Allissa feels some suction in the air, as if something very large just drew in a big breath.

"I WAS TALKING ABOUT YOU CHOOSING POORLY!!!
