Uther

Uther rolled his eyes as he witnessed the half-orc stride ahead into the liquid pool. "Stay out of the way, will you!" the shrouded wizard called out as he produced small pinches of powder from a belt pouch and combined them with a lard-like substance.

OOC: Casting Flaming Sphere. A torch is just too mundane.

The spell does nothing to the liquid. Though it does appear to shift forward another small amount.

Ferris levitates to the ceiling, wriggles his butt and makes like swimming motions to move across the ceiling and clips his heels to descend the other side of the stone coloured ooze.

The gnome makes it safely to the other side of the hallway. At this point the liquid appears to be agitated enough that a tendril like appendage forms out of the stuff and it acts snake like and strikes at Yagul but fails to hit the half-orc.

at this stage just about everyone is on the stairs still except for Yagul and Ferris if you wish to fight the slime/ooze roll up attacks and state actions. I will roll init for both sides.

Slime? Ooze?

Yagul gets surprised by a snake like appendage that snakes up from the liquid he is now trying to move out of. It strikes at him but misses, he continues to move. It strikes at him again. again it misses the half-orc. The half-orc manages to run albeit slower than usual finding the liquid is a bit more solid than running in water, he is now however past the slow moving liquid and at the far end of the hallway from it. Ferris shoots a bolt at the ooze/slime creature but the bolt flies wide and misses, which appears odd being that it is almost like hitting the floor. Everyone else sees all of this happening from the stairs leading down from the 3rd floor.

So far the creature is discovered to be liquid, moves very slowly, and strikes like a snake with at least one appendage. Looks like water, and is unaffected by flame. The creature has moved far enough away from where the stone was dropped into it and you see the very same stone unharmed, Yagul also finds his footwear is similarly unaffected. Same for the rations that were dropped in them you see the creature has moved and left the dried rations on the floor.

Ferris

Ferris meat cleaver attack [1d20]=14 damage [1d4+1]=2+1=3

Gets his little chopper out to dissect the creature's pseudopods if any try to grab at him though he stays well away. He continues down the steps a short way. What does he see?

Ferris notes that the metal from his cleaver is being corroded and dissolved from where it touched the ooze/slime creature.

Yagul

Watching Ferris cross, Yagul is horrified seeing his cleaver dissolve. "It eats metal!"

Uther

Having seen that some of the others have passed beyond the strange jellied material unscathed, the young human wizard decided to simply walk through the area which it occupied. Yagul had said something about the creature harming or possibly consuming metal, but as Uther was wearing only a minute amount of metal, and none of it would come into direct contact with the slime, he felt quite confident that it would not affect him in any way.

Uther bypasses the slow moving slime and is now with Yagul and Ferris on the other side of it.

I suppose if nobody has metal that would touch the ooze/slime by running or walking through it I can just speed you all over if that works?

Beyond the Slime everyone else manages to move through and past the slime it tries to strike at everyone that walks through it but is unsuccessful in hitting them. A bit of luck for the adventuring party. The slime moves towards the same direction as the group but it moves so slowly you have time to walk away from it. Following the hallway it goes east for 60' to 80' depending on where you started counting the 10' x 10' stone floor slabs. The hallway then comes to a bend back northwards that appears to turn into a hallway that goes east further and the other leads west and turns north possibly to another stairwell leading down to the ground floor. The short hall passage leads to double doors in the east wall and a stairwell that indeed goes down. To the eastern longer hallway you see a single door at the far end, and one door on the north wall of the hallway and the south wall of the same hallway. So now you have 4 potential rooms to investigate and another set of stairs to go down.
