There is a small write up in this adventure that pertains to many horrors of racism in the 1920’s era in the US.

You guys have all been awesome so far at keeping the “feel” of that time going in game, so I don’t find it necessary to spell it all out for you.

There are a couple of encounters in this game where you may sense a bit of it (like Pete’s latest comment), but for the sake of decency, I am not going to go overboard with that concept.

I hope that everyone here is smart enough to know that racism is an ugly fact of life that has no place in modern society, despite its growing popularity lately among.....well....I won’t go there, but you get the message.

As I mentioned, I will keep that theme to a bare minimum, but please speak up if you are offended in any way by how I write it into the game.

Thanks!

No.

That was not a house, it was a garage, and it was on the other end of town, in a industrial area, nearly outside of Harlem altogether.

I am glad to hear that.

It has been a bit of a balance to post enough pertinent information, without writing half a novel in my updates, but otherwise I think it's going pretty well so far.

I think 4 players is a bit easier to manage for this system as well.

Coming to auction on October 14 is a 16-leaf autographed manuscript of H. P. Lovecraft’s short story, “Pickman’s Model.” The story was published in the October 1927 issue of Weird Tales.

As an added bonus, the entire manuscript is written on the verso of typed correspondence with Lovecraft's colleagues, including James F. Morton, August Derleth, W. Paul Cook, and Victor E. Bacon. (The author tended to reuse old letters this way.) It is likely a later draft, according to Heritage Auctions, dating to sometime in 1926 and closely matching the typescript with final edits held in Brown University Library’s Lovecraft collection.

Currently bid to $5,500 and expected to go much higher, the manuscript comes from the private collection of the late Gary Munson, a dedicated collector of genre fiction. Other highlights include a nicely bound first edition of Frankenstein, the first appearance of Tarzan, and a first edition (in dust jacket) of The Hobbit.

I ran 2 games.

AD&D 1E

And an AS&SH game.

We played some S&W, Traveller, a few board games and got in a CoC game ran by one of their writers, James Lowder.

Another absolutely awesome time at our favorite convention of the year.

Sorry for the short notice but……

I will be away from the boards for a couple days, and might have some spotty internet connections for the next couple of weeks.

I will try to keep up with the game as best I can, but expect a considerably slower pace from me until around the 20th.

Thanks for your patience over the next couple weeks!
