The Tomb of Demara

#1 Post by mithrandir138 »

The Adventure Begins....

The story begins with the heroes in the Red Dragon Tavern in the town. It is a busy place, filled with drinkers and musicians. A few local folk play darts in one corner. Things in the town have been quiet -- so quiet, in fact, that the heroes have not had a single chance for an adventure.

I get a Hammy and Cheese sandwich and go play darts waiting for the others.

After the Grand Wizard finished speaking, Silverleaf looks both excited and thoughtful. Peering at his compainions:

Well it appears that we have been tasked with a quest of sorts. The Elven Lord Taran has gone missing on his search for what appears to be an Orb of power. We have been idle too long in this town so I say that we accept his offer of coin for our assistance.

Looking back to the Wizard and leaning against his quarterstaff: Tell me, do you know if Lord Taran travelled alone or was he with companions?

EDIT: Elven Lord's name

The High Wizard Nethril responds: "As far as I know, he went into the ruins alone. Taran was so worried that the orb would get into the wrong hands, he stated he wanted to find it as soon as he could. Perhaps he also wanted to keep his mission secret? These could be the only explanations for such a foolish choice."

I ask the wizard for directions to the ruins and a good description of the elf lord.

Nethril responds: "My servant will point you in the direction of the castle when he escorts you out. As far Taran's appearance, he is a cheerful elf with golden hair and blue eyes. He was wearing brown robes when he left."

OOC: Sorry for the bland description, but this is verbatim what the book says. As far as directions go, IIRC, the next track just warps you to the castle. Of course I could embellish, but I am playing by the book on purpose :) I don't want to contradict anything in the audio that I don't remember :) .

"Let us be on our way then," Silverleaf the elf interjected. "The sooner we leave the more hopeful it will be for us to find Lord Tarantula alive."

Silverleaf looks at Lordan and nods. Many thanks Nethril, I am hoping that we can find Lord Taran in one piece, safe and sound with the Orb in his possession. Tell me, do you know aught else about this Ogre and who or what it might be?

Looking back at his companions; Does anyone have need of supplies before we begin?

I am. I hemmed and hawed between Silverleaf and Lordan so much before i chose though that I had convinced myself that I picked the elf between picking the cleric and posting.

I can blamed "Lord Tarantula" on auto-correct though. :D

Slinker steps up and says with a sneer, "Honorable wizard, based on our previous dealings, I respectfully ask for 25 gold up front. For supplies and such, you understand."

Nethril: ”Sadly, I know nothing of this ogre. I just hope Taran was mistaken, they are dreadful creatures, and don’t take kindly to elves... unless they are cooked properly!”

Nethril, scowls and says: "I said not a penny more! …... However, I …. I suppose it is fair to assist with expenses. Very well." He opens a desk drawer, reaches in and pulls out a coin purse with 25gp in it and tosses it to the thief. "Now, please be on your way! We haven't much time!

Silverleaf nods to Nethril "Aye there is not a moment to lose, wind and sky wait on no man. Let us go while the weather holds and hope we are in time to assist Lord Taran."
