(012B) Jump to Phlume

After the ship enters Jump Space everyone settles down to the "normal" week in isolation that is a staple of interstellar travel. Engineering and the Bridge go on a nominal watch with someone, most anyone, being in those spaces 24 hours a day "just in case." There's really nothing to do on the Bridge and with everything computerized, Connie handles most anything needed in Engineering...of course, just in case...

The crew and passengers go about their business with only a little interaction. Zaki, John Lee and Sigrun keep an eye on the passengers, make sure they are are feed and comfortable and generally stay out of their way. The crew goes about its business of routine maintenance and various studies and continues to "get to know each other."

Pavel and Emily, the two newest members of the crew come in for the most questioning and "getting to know you" type interactions with the more long term crew. There are crew dinners and both Pavel and Emily are invited to participate in the "game nights" that the crew has a couple times during each jump...card and board games.

OOC: Speaking of studies...Who is studying what, to start/continue their skill improvements?

Pedro continues his Engineering studies and submits to Sigrun's firearms training. He will work with any of the crew who want Zero-Gee training; I'm sure Sigrun will enjoy beating him up sparring with him to demonstrate zero-gee hand-to-hand.

Knowing the ship is heading closer to the DMZ Sigrun maintains her training regime and ensures everyone has shot through their training rounds to keep them up to her view of "qualification".

She will encourage Pavel to try out the auto shotgun, the standard onboard shotguns and his snub pistol. For a non "pistoleer" she focuses on the area denial utility of HE and Gas rounds.

She begins background research into lapidary and metalwork with an interest toward fashioning jewellery.

She continues to support Zaki's recovery efforts.

She continues to practice and work with Connie on focus/micromanagement of shipboard environmental controls and the refinement of her security protocols. This includes such experimental "tweaks" as sequentially suspending shipboard gravity plates to allow Sigrun to "fly/zero G boost" along a "normal environment" corridor.

The trip from Extolay to Phlume passes with no events that are out of the ordinary. Boring does happen, at least, once in a while.

As the week in jump draws to a close, everyone in the crew starts preparing for emergence back into normal space.

Zaki works out with Carlos and Sigrun as she seeks to increase her strength in general, and the flexibility in her right hip joint area in particular. Otherwise, she sees to the passengers' needs.

With all the bets down the participates wait anxiously for the end of jump....166 passes, then 168, then 169...and a bit of worry creeps in. You all know the time could be just about anywhere in the 160's or 170's and still be considered normal, so you aren't really worried...
