Correcting myself RSV Virus apparently easy enough to goof up the acronym.

I appreciate the well wishes and kind words :)

Next couple of weeks are going to be difficult for me to post. Not 100% afk, but close. Thanks for your patience as I gear things up for my classes while entering finals for my summer courses.

no worries Brett. I've got a strange work week going on I was not in my office today, I was working in the SU building helping my boss. Tomorrow I'll be at another school working with a colleague helping him out.

fyi I just figured I'd mention I lost a player again. Guess it is the way this game is structured and my uber slow posting rate cannot say for certain.

Ed, absolutley no intent here to sound patronizing, just a vote of confidence and some encouragement that is truly from the heart:
  • It's not personal.
Its unfortunately common that even good-faith players need to depart from PBP games. There are a variety of reasons ranging from the valid personal stuff to the trivial or stylistic stuff.
  • As the old adage goes, "The graveyards are full of indispensable people."
While every good-faith player is important to the overall success of the game and there are many characters who are important to the story aspects, any of them can be replaced! If you deem we have a quorum of players for the characters of your game, then we can proceed.
  • Roll call! Sound off!
Each of the remaining players need to actively communicate and set expectations on posting. Keep your fellow players notified of anything predictable that may disrupt the steady flow of posting replies.

Sorry I should be more active. I just haven't been around my PC as much. I need to make it a habit to login at least once a day.

Regarding about getting 5 days worth of provisions and a horse. Is it recommended to get a horse? I haven't read up on horses in 2E, so it'll take me awhile to read up on it.

Yes it would be wise at least from the way they are wording this in the module which i find odd as I know i can usually carry a full waterskin and at least a week or two worth of dry or iron rations on a PC typically. So it is odd how they are phrasing it with a horse you can take 5 days of both with out only 2. But again this was all tailored to a different "realm" than where we are. I would suggest some sort of pack animal even if you are not riding it, it can add to what amount of gear is brought as well as lessen the amount your character personally has to lug around.

All in all posting rate wise I know it is mainly my posting rate slowing the game down to slower than I was aiming for. For that I will say sorry as I feel I owe it to you all. Summer work this year is busier than it was last summer for me. So I have been unable to post at work during my lunch break. Partially my fault i volunteered myself as help to my colleagues at their schools since i was ahead at mine. So I've been getting sent all over the place (to an extent). Then family or wife having things for me to do when i get home by the time i get time i don't have the energy to post some of the large amounts of text updates this specific game is running off of as for one the pdf is acting like a scanned image not text so copy and paste is not working out. I've been manually typing it all out but only have the one screen to read and type slows me down a bit more.

all that aside I have begun wondering if i hadn't put myself into more than I can manage DM side. I think I may have at least for the way things have been going lately but once school starts things might change back to slower so i have more time. So long as the rest of you can bear with me and my not weekly game updating for now I am still wanting to do this.

This has come up for everyone so I am just going to settle this here since it is not specific to any one group. The amount carried by horse vs on a single person not opting for a horse/mount. I am inclined to agree with Brett in that it is a typo meant to say weeks not days worth of water and food.

Prime example using normal encumbrance a PC can carry at least 2 weeks of dry or iron rations along with other gear and waterskins. STR permitting anyway. So saying you can only carry 2 days by yourself is odd, and questioning.

I am going to say you can carry at least a week on your character. If you opt for a mount you should be able to carry far more I'm willing to say at least 4 weeks worth of rations and several waterskins.

Ouch, wishing you a speedy recovery, Ed! Let's leverage the advantage of play-by-post, namely that all the events and details were already captured in text. We can review the post history to remind us of where we left off and resume with the same momentum. So my suggestion is just give us a few days notification before you're ready to begin again and prepare us to jump back in.

Well to top things off letter in the mail today from the landlord they are selling all their rental properties...and right now the market is selling places for more than they are worth and rental market here is fairly dead/non-existent especially if you want to keep your pets. So fun times... but hey at least my back is feeling a bit better.

Good to hear about your back but take it easy on it when you move. Yeah, I think a lot of landlords are doing the same thing for obvious reasons. That industry will probably never fully recover since a precedent has been set....

makes it rough for people like myself can't get a mortgage too much in student loan debt, and pay enough right now that i have no savings account so can't even come up with a down payment. Living paycheck to paycheck is rough. Annoyingly even though i have family here none of them can help me out or are willing to. So fun stuff. Fortunately the place hasn't even been appraised yet but it's old as heck and needs a lot of work. So maybe it won't go so fast...

Good luck Ed, its a tough situation for a lot of people for sure. My Godson just had the same thing happen and had to go from a 30 minute commute to just over an hour to find a place he could afford.
