1 - library
2 - Fighter Training/sellswords/mercenaries

I think we're all full up on inns and taverns. Probably too many for the size of town we're talking about, even.
Unless the tavern and restaurant do not have sleeping arrangements
(guess i should have checked before posting that, but...)
On the other hand, maybe the town NEEDS that many, or even more, if we place it near a phenom, natural or manmade.
(One of our buildings could be famous.) 8-)
But what are we lacking? What would a village of <50 require?
A dock area would/could justify the additional inns.
Maybe we are all just supposed to be a short rest area for those traveling down river.

That's a thought.

A small wharf/dock area with a seedy tavern/inn that most of the locals avoid? And then the one near one of the roads into town that the locals frequent.

Good idea, Ston.

The 'hot and cold' inns is another story, yes?
What else are we lacking?

Well my only issue is the town should be rather small or the river should be a difficult one to travel because generally towns along waterways grow and usually very fast because of the trade and easier travel.

I just thought of something....

we have made good effort building the town...

why not a thread for what seeks to destroy it?

I think that is a DM choice, right? to fit in whatever adventure the town will reside?

I think that would be going a little out of bounds of the project's scope, what it was mean to be. The town is just serving as a template, a tool for any DM to use, right? I remember Alethan mentioning something about this one time or another.

I agree with Onlyme and Rukellian, yet I kind of like this idea. But, I think we should focus on getting town itself finished up.
We're like 7/8th there as it is!

But back to this: You'd almost have to develop side quests. Say a band of dark elves seek to interrogate/kidnap/kill Erswin, of Erswin’s Tack and Saddle. How does the party hear about it? What is the best course of action? What is the reward, if any? Yada, yada, yada.

I've always liked adventures with side quests. It allows a party to make a little more coin, a little more experience, with little input by the DM. If you want to develop something, Stonjuz, go for it. I'm sure we can work it into the final product.

I'd like to move this project forward. I think we've got it almost complete as far as submissions, and now it's time to do the editing and layout.

So, if you've submitted one or more entries, (or would like to add more) please edit your post and make any changes or additions by November 18 (a little less than a month). Then post in this thread saying that you're happy with your submission(s).

Don't feel that you have to 'finish' your entry if you don't have time. I and a couple others (I hope :) ) will edit and proofread.

Post here if you can help with editing and proofreading.

Thanks to everyone on this so far!

Dude... It's October 21st. I think you just lost a month of time somewhere...

(I can proofread. It is my day job, after all...)

I am happy with my current submission for the Unseen Servant builds a town project. I pretty sure most of it is grammatically correct, though I may have eased up on the comma usage necessary for certain prepositional phrases. *shrugs* I also made sure to emphasize somewhat that the associated quest for the bakery is strictly optional and that the DM should not have to feel compelled to use it.

Thank you for letting me participate in this project, considering that I hopped on when I was still fairly new to the site! May future adventuring groups know the deliciousness of freshly baked bread on their travels. :)

Oh man. I need to slow down sometimes. It's hard shifting out of work mode at the end of the day.

And thank you Rukellian
