As we assemble from Easter and such, I would like to welcome each of the players here!

I have a story arc planned, but I am not easily flummoxed by going off story.
(I ran a 12 person ftf DnD game for 3 years)

Each player has a spot and there could be others joining later as I get in the flow and have time to run.

I will usually check in at least once a day, if not more frequently.

So some questions:

Yes there is psionics, very rare and the government wants you to work for them.
You will have a ship the four of you can run with room to expand, given the right situation.
I will not immediately sic the government on you. The government also has a story line, if they gain something because of you or your actions, the story might change.
Armor will take away (soak) damage and stay efficient as noted, unless its story correct. A PGMP firing on TL-8 vacc suit will most likely damage it to failure. Willing to take player consensus on this
I get to specific and detail organized sometime, if I am going to far down the rabbit hole, let me know.

Meanwhile spend you credits freely now, you wont have easy access when the game starts.
For over TL9 items you may
1) Purchase one TL12 item
2) Purchase one TL11 and one TL10
3) Purchase 3 TL10 Items

Items that come as benefits do not count towards this limit

For now, the planet you are on is mostly ignored by lots of people, your area is the 'new expanses' Colonization over the last 200 years or so.

Back when you were going down the tunnel, I transposed the names, all water....

Gunnar Thunarssen stops midstride just before leaving the room and half turns back. "I have no more idea then you do." Gunnar proceeds out the door and walks the ship, looking into each room to get the layout and feel of it; as well as to make sure there are no more surprises.

Hiro nods his head, thinking about Gunnar's response. The ship appears to be just what Octavia said it would be, but the mysteries of the ships oddities still leave questions

In general I like to wait for all three to kick in before moving on, especially with such a large amount of info I gave you here.

May I just post here to clear up Marco's position and clarify my understanding of the ship

So basically, if you 'buy out' his minor share it relegates his involvement to just 'being a crewman' on a vessel. Which might be fine but I really don't want to get involved in another scenario where one player goes "I am the Captain. You will go here, do this, do that. My way or the highway'. It is just no fun to play as someone else's npc. Hence why I asked regarding future ship plans and players taking equal risk getting equal reward. I wouldn't want for example to rob a stellar bank and we gain a $1m credit swag only for a player to go. 'I own 49.5% of the ship so I am claiming my $495,000 share and Marco gets $3,333.'

Also to clarify, if my 1/300th share is in a K2 type Safari ship valued around $65m, that value is around $214,000. Am I misunderstanding something?

Not a pain at all, and it's completely legit.

I'm sorry if it looks like I'm dominating -- I can dial back.

Dev has no inclination to be the captain, she has no real viable space skills, and is built as a social character. She's taken the captain's cabin presumptuously, but on the ship can serve as a comms officer and really nothing else. I (as a player) want everyone to feel involved, and (candidly) one of the reasons I have Dev pushing for a nestegg is so that we don't need only to play the buy-and-sell cargo game (and so find other ways to get into trouble). I apologize for not making that more transparent. Honestly, I don't want to focus on finances, which is the least interesting part of space adventure for me.

I am happy you are here, and I want Marco to feel totally part of the crew. It's not my intention for anyone to bicker about small things. If you want Dev to make a stupid bet with Marco and transfer some of her shares, that's fine too. I just want to be exploring, and if we're breaking into a bank, its even splits!

I think we are almost at a point where we will be free to adventure as we like; if we plan on putting 40-70% of any take into a ship operating fund to keep us going, anything else can be split evenly. I am not about fighting with other players. Fighting with NPC slumlords and their sleezy lawyers, absolutely.
