Marco (see profile in Crew thread)
My Travellers all have an Aliens theme. Marco is a veteran of the infantry, specialising in demolition and explosives though mishap injury pensioned him out and he grifted some merchant navy career before following up his interest in the TTTS.
as a player my Traveller experience is limited too.

Re: OOG Discussion
Hi Max, welcome aboard.
I inherited Monte as an existing character, so I'm still working on "inhabiting" him. I think the original player was going for "action Scotty", but I've dropped the accent
I don't have any particular model from film or television in mind, I'm afraid. My Monte was a Navy Officer, serving in the unglamorous Gunner/Engineer branch. He used his career to advance himself socially (from 6 to 10, with TAS membership). He likes routine and believes in maintenance and prevention of problems (Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance). He is at home on a ship, but he loves to explore any planet he visits and most of his possessions are expedition gear for various environments.
I've played Traveller for decades, in many versions. The beauty of it is that, at the core, the rules are pretty simple, and they discourage gun-play (which promotes creative solutions).

Nice to 'meetcha'
I must re-iterate that I'm VERY ignorant of this world/genre/game....so apologies in advance for being the 'tag-along' idiot child....

Re: OOG Discussion
Welcome, Max. Good to have you here!
I play Hiro Watanabe, ex Pirate Captain, born as a rich socialite, but a fugitive for the death of his younger brother in a duel, a duel instigated by his sister in a bid to seize the family fortune and power. Hiro now wanders the galaxy looking for resources to challenge his sister and regain his lost position.

Re: OOG Discussion
Nice pic.
Listen, among all the great dialogue in the narrative and long posts, I find myself a bit lost as to what Marco is currently doing and if you require any skill rolls. This is my present action.
Perhaps there could be a summary of who is where and doing what to help us visualise things.
I know as part of preparations he performed some 'recon' as requested and created the explosive breach charges.

"This is the provisional concept of operations. We will be landing here, about 45 Km Northwest of the fort at the location identified by air traffic control. Hiro, Marco, Monte, and Gunnar, we will conduct the standard buying and selling cargo activities at this location, but that will just be cover activity to catch an opportunity to note the general security level and any gossip about the area.
Marco you have command."

Re: OOG Discussion
Apologies for double post.
I'm having difficulties with the forum. Lots of 502 Gateway Errors, 504 Gateway Timeout connection fails, etc.
It appears the first post went up but the browser reported a failed connection, so I re-submitted.

Me too. For several days now. I thought it was the wind but I read a lot of players report similar delays.

Re: OOG Discussion
One change:
There are NO boy scouts with the tent, they are all at the beach. Only the 2 scout masters by the target buildings.

Re: OOG Discussion
I have added the NPC's to the Crew Roster, as you have a better idea of them after about a month with them.
