Hooter makes a face at the music and grabs his squeeze box. Nope, nope, and nope...

Play Accordion v81 [1d100]=39

He matches the third cord and tries to counter their attack by forcing a key change into a minor key before blasting them with his own sonic attack.

Janx wants to play Beethoven 5th dramatic opening riff, but he's afraid it might blow up the whole area. He takes aim at an armored Menudolrian, hits a harmonic on the high E's 12th fret, and fires three short sonic bursts.

Rhythm guitar 79 [1d100]=44
Janx twanged the low E string and the guitar vibrated as a sonic bolt fired from the head. It was barely visible, being a disruptive waviness in the air, and it broke apart rock as it hit it.

Next the high E string, which fired a sustained sonic beam for the length of the note. The open E on the high E string fired a beam that lasted longer. The E harmonic on the 12th fret of the high E string fired three short sonic bursts.

The open A formed a corkscrew of sound that spun and drilled a hole in rock!

The D string weirdly created a cone of silence. The B string caused a bounce of sound directed downward under Janx, causing him to bounce up 15' (3d6 Dex check to land without hurting yourself.) The effects of the G string, much like the G spot, remained elusive to Janx's fingerings.

Battle of the Bands - Round Two

Image

The sonic boom of the Menudolorian known as RickyMartin impacted Alice, blowing her back in a buffet of battering bruises (8 HP, from round 1). Scamp staggered up, mascara askew, drum sticks still in hand, and angrily banged out a drum solo. A stacatto of sonic slams subsumed (16 HP) the Menudolorian, making his ears bleed, armor crack, bones splinter, jetpack cut, and the bounty hunter fell 20' to the ground and lay unmoving.

Realizing the Menudolorians were deadly serious, TPK strummed and fingered their instruments. Invisible airwaves crackled with life, bright strings bristled with the energy, their emotional feedback on timeless wavelength, bearing a violence beyond frequency, almost sensory.

Melodius Mel visualized an expansive effect against the group. Realizing he has been a bit off in recent performances, Mel adjusted to a 'preformance' to better effect. He strummed an E-string syncopatic stutter that, like a ripple in a lake repeating and expanding, summoned forth a sonic ripple that embraced the Menudolorians in a punishing vibration (4 HP each, and -20% to hit for this round). They were all forced to the ground.

Hooter was grazed by a Menudolorian's synth-beam (1 HP from round 1), leaving an itchy gash and urge to dance. He frantically fingered his rockordian in a minor key, producing a wonky whack of accord-o-sound that lashed a nearby Menudolorian (8 HP). The bounty hunter doubled over in pain on top of Mel's vibration pain, and appeared heavily wounded.

The rythm guitarist Janx riffed a harmonic on the high E's 12th fret, and the futuro-guitar belched three short sonic bursts at the Menudolorean that landed near him. The noise drowned out the latino boy-pop and struck the bounty hunter in the chest (11 HP). The already vibrated Menudolorian fell back, heavily wounded, his armor dented in three spots.

Derek, facing an incoming sonic assault, dodged at the last second by a leaping roll. He was shaken and his keyboard attack missed the mark.

The four Menudolorians still standing returned fire. The vibrating ripple of Mel's guitar made their aim difficult, and only Hooter was hit with a sonic bolt (8 HP).

Actions for Round 3!
- Extra XP for first to identify when I riff off Neal and the song :)
- Alice was brave in deciding not to Dodge in round one. She has 3 HP left :o Hooter also missed the spoilered suggestion and took 1.
- Rnd 2 - M vs TPK [1d6]=2 vs [1d6]=5 TPK wins
- Rnd 2 Alice drum solo damage [3d6]=8 Alice's percentile to-hit roll of 3 is close enough to critical to count, so double to 16.
- NOTE: The bounty hunter armor does protect them against certain types of attacks, subtracting points from the damage.
- Rnd 2 Mel damage [1d6]=4. I picked up on certain words and intents (or typos) in Mel post to arrive at an effect. While the damage is low, it effects all of them and gives a +20% modifier (a negative) on their aim for this round.
- Rnd 2 Hooter damage [2d6]=8
- Rnd 2 Janx damage [2d6]=11
- Derek keyboard attack [1d20]=5, damage [2d6]=8 Miss :(
- So at the end of Round 2, there is one Menudoloran down (Alice's), two heavily wounded (Hooter and Janx's), and the other two lightly wounded.

- Rnd 2 Menudolorians attack [_4d100]=(51+66+96+65)=278 w/ -4 modifier That's +20%, not -4, so only one hit.
- Who did it hit? Rnd 2 - 1 Menudolorian damage [2d6]=8 on [1d4]=3 M, D, H, J. 8 on Hooter, bringing him to 7 HP.

Seeing that the others are having good luck with their attacks, Mel continues his speedy 2-fingered bass line, riffing off the great Steve (Bomber) (Harry) Harris and his galloping speed-strumming style.

Preform (68) [1d100]=60

As his fingers start to tire, he hopes his ability to confuse the silky invaders continues long enough for the others to get their licks in.

Seeing the urgency of the situation, Janx plays the riff that every guitarist and bassist first learned in junior high and can play even while unconscious. Have some Smoke on the Water, Menudolorians!

Hooter groans as the horrible sounds rack his body leaving him feeling bruised and battered. He looks around trying to find some cover.

Guys! Im am not feeling so good! We need to find the places for hiding and fighting!

Luck: 70 Ducking for a table that he throws over on its side.

All while trying to keep up his assault on their attackers: He unleashes a torrent of wild scales walking from one minor key to the other in quick repetition while dealing a funky base line he adapted from the Funky Aliens that had been stuck in his head, releasing a wild series of sonic blasts at the Menudolorians.

Eat my notings you boyish ones, yeah?! We are here for the music and the tiger ladies! No this %$#@! Some things in Dutch shouldn't be translated. But Hooter was pissed. These guys were interfering with his getting of the Snu-Snu. How Rude.

Battle of the Bands - Round 3

Arena Map
Image
Image

Melodious Mel was one with his guitar, that strange device, as it gave forth its sound, its wires that vibrate and give music, what can this thing shoot around? It joyously screamed out its pain, sounds that built high like a mountain, and Mel shared this new wonder. The arena crowds all see its light. That music critics could praise TPK on this night.

Mel continued his masterful line and the sonic ripples played around the Menudolorians, bruising them (2 HP) and disrupting their insidiously catchy rhythms.

Bodily shaken and with a head that minutes ago was flying high on Janx’s perfectly rolled doobie, Hooter imagined he overturned a table as he really dashed behind a stone column (see map.)

The accordionist laid out a line of scales that launched a sonic burp that belted the wounded Menudolorian (9 HP) who was dancing toward him. The bounty hunter, who previously took punishing rhythms, fell to the ground and lay unmoving.

Alice, wary of getting hit again, took evasive maneuvers while barely managing to bang out a percussive attack. With her own bounty hunter downed, Scamp directed the sound against the Menudolorian attacking Janx. The snare drum sonic snapped against the bounty hunter (2 HP), shaking him up.

Janx riffed out smoky sonics that shimmered with deep purple but quickly faded to pale pink as the Menudolorian’s top 40 armor repelled the tones.

Derek the keyboard whizzard krafted an ominous gothic medley that made the Menudolorian feel depressed and lethargic (6 HP).

The bounty hunter turned up his boy-pop, the salsa skip returning to his feet, raised his arm and unleashed a cone of flame (10 HP).

Image

Derek screamed in pain from the boy-pop, and the burns ouched too. He fell to the ground and rolled trying to put out the flames before finally going unconscious from the pain.

The Menudolorian facing down Mel raised his arm and fired a grappling cord at the lead singer, trying to stop his strange device. The line wrapped around his upper body, ensnaring guitar and player!

Actions!

- I’m house ruling you can Dodge a gun (the decision can come after you see if an attack would have hit you) but also that if you Dodge you can’t attack in the same round (for balance sake.) In Alice’s case, it was moot due to the miss.
- Rnd 3 damages to Menudos: Mel [1d6]=2, Hooter [2d6]=9, Alice [1d6]=2
- Rnd 3 Derek attack [1d100]=12, Dodge [1d100]=84 Hits, chooses to do damage instead of dodge because he’s wearing a red shirt.
- Rnd 3 Derek keyboard dam [2d6]=6
- Rnd 3 Menudo attacks [_4d100]=(71+83+42+24)=220 4th is for vs Mel Forgot to apply Mel ripple modifier of -10% this round [as he rolled a mediocre 60 of 68.] So the third and forth rolls hit, Derek and Mel respectively.
- Rnd 3 Menudo flame thrower dam on Derek [2d6]=10  Derek has 1 HP left. Per the rules p. 27, at 2 HP or less you go unconscious. At 0, dead.
- The grappling cord around Mel will require an opposed roll (percentile) using Str. to escape. It will be quite difficult.
- As of the end of this round, two Menudolorians are down (Alice and Hooter), two are heavily wounded (Janx and Derek), and one medium wounded (Mel).
- Jemmus identified the Rush song lyric riff in Round 2, so on next opportunity to roll to increase stats, you can roll with Advantage (two chances to roll.)

Mel is unhappy about this new "Discovery".

If possible, he tries to dodge the lines flying towards him. (not sure if this would be considered a "gun" or not)
Dodge (32) [1d100]=48 nope

The lead singer finds the cord wrapped around him to be far too difficult to break free of, despite his best efforts.

Battle of the Bands - Round 4 Interuption

The arena crowd cheered as the Menudoloreans battled TPK in a deadly dance of sonic violence. The dozens of others who were skirmishing in the arena had stopped and now circled the battle, watching eagerly.

TPK fighting on a lighted stage, it approached the unreal, for those who think and feel, in touch with many realities yet held in a temporal cage.
Cast in their unlikely roles, ill-equipped to act,
with insufficient skill, they must toke and fight to keep themselves intact.

“Kick their ass!” yelled Jimmy, who at first sight of the flying bounty hunters had bolted into the crowd.

The smell of Derek’s seared human flesh wafted by TPK. Alice and Hooter were wounded, but the show must go on.

A great cry of surprise went up from the arena crowd. Hands pointed skyward. The Menudoloreans and TPK chanced a quick glance up and saw a hovering transparent platform upon which the just-arrived Queen watched the battle.

The Queen waved and smiled and the crowd cast their full attention on their liege. She was radiant, impossibly beautiful by human and alien standards. The Queen was at that moment the sun and moon, the reason one was here, the purpose of life to behold her being. Her body and mind captured all. Many in the crowd swooned, while others were unable to stop discretely pleasuring themselves.

The thrall of the Queen was powerful, effecting the Menudoloreans and TPK alike…
Please make a percentile roll for your Pow (in opposition to the Queen’s thrall; one wants a low roll. If your Pow is 8 or under, its 15%, if 9-10, its 20%; 11-12, 25%, 13-15, 30%, 16, 35%, 17, 40%, 18, 45%). If succeeding, you can take Round 4 action. If failed, you stand transfixed at her presence. If you roll 95-100, you pleasure yourself to her.

Janx thinks, "This is becoming a real downer. Derek, flamethrowered. Mel restrained, like that time Boston PD handcuffed him-- but worse. And me missing with Smoke on the Water, of all riffs. Well, mean boy-pop boys, this time the smoke is going right on the water!"

Jemmus can you add in a Pow percentile roll to see how you respond to the thrall of the Queen.

Close, but the lyrics draw from Limelight.

Post #571, Round 3, has some stylized 2112 lyrics from Part 3 Discovery.

Janx's jaw dropped at the sight of the lovely queen. She was hotter than Chrissie. Hotter than the angel chick at the The Rat gig. Hotter than both Ginger and Mary Ann. Even hotter than a Frazetta chick. His right hand fell from the strings and his pick fell from his fingers....
