I don't know. The photo was taking during the Signals "New World" tour in 1982-3, according to my "Rush - Wandering the Face of the Earth" book. I would guess it is the backstage pass badge, though looking at some pictures of those from "Rush - Album by Album" I see that they use the dog and hydrant image from the Signals album cover. So not sure.

Bluehorse's Playlists

Just something I slapped together since we are sharing this sort of thing. I am a huge fan of 70's rock, but I have really enjoyed some of the newer stuff from the past decade as well. There are also a lot of interesting groups on YouTube that are making their own stuff and cover tributes that I think are worth sharing. :) Hope you enjoy!

Classic Playlists:
Guns & Roses - Sweet Child of Mine: https://youtu.be/1w7OgIMMRc4
Saxon - Crusader: https://youtu.be/JPbSjmToWXY Possibly my favorite track to play during a combat :)
Pink Floyd - Time: https://youtu.be/F_VjVqe3KJ0 my favorite performance :)
Matallica - Whisky in the Jar: https://youtu.be/boanuwUMNNQ Talk about a cover! This is a drinking song dating back to I believe the early 1500s.
Motley Crue - Smokin' in the Boys Room: https://youtu.be/5oVBvxA0mm0
Motley Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls: https://youtu.be/d2XdmyBtCRQ
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart: https://youtu.be/CmXWkMlKFkI
Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It: https://youtu.be/V9AbeALNVkk
Van Halen - Hot for The Teacher: https://youtu.be/6M4_Ommfvv0
Dokken - Kiss of Death: https://youtu.be/CAi2R9NxMnU
George Lynch - Mr. Scary: https://youtu.be/-ezyI2kUbfc
Eagles - Hotel California: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFZQt6kj2kM
Lita Ford & Ozzy Osbourn - Close Your Eyes for Ever: https://youtu.be/ulxNrRLbhEw
Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly: https://youtu.be/kIt3OGra3Lo
Dragonforce - Through the Fire and the Flames: https://youtu.be/0jgrCKhxE1s
Kansas - Carry OnWayward Son: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5ZJui3aPoQ

Modern Surprises:
Godsmack - Drum Duel: https://youtu.be/SAZgkZFi3LI I can totally see something like this for TPK later on when they hit it big :)
Godsmack - Drum & Bass: https://youtu.be/o8LWz7zrOEc
Godsmack - VooDoo: https://youtu.be/9SSUQxGjZZ4
My Darkest Days - Pronstar Dancing: https://youtu.be/c2Fnet0y9Ts <- Hooter Song!!!
Rob Zombie - Dragula: https://youtu.be/EqQuihD0hoI
Rob Zombie - Never Gonna Stop Me: https://youtu.be/0698sTH7mUk
Nightwish - The Phantom of the Opera: https://youtu.be/8VgLKXD-BoY I feel like this was a natural evolution of where bands like Stix, Queen, and Boston were heading.
Nightwish - Amaranth: https://youtu.be/GdZn7k5rZLQ
Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful: https://youtu.be/pckMm9k7cJw
Nightwish - Nemo: https://youtu.be/kIBdpFJyFkc
Nightwish - I wish I had an Angel: https://youtu.be/wEERFBI9eCg
Nightwish - While Your Lips Are Still Red: https://youtu.be/smiFk6KHr_8 Favorite Song! Tuomas Holopainen sings in this one and does a great job. Admittedly, behind the humor, this is who I mainly based Hooter on. I was upset to learn he left the bad this year, but it has a trouble past anyway. Seriously, Nightwish is a Rock and Roll Soap Opera all by itself. Would make a good movie.
Theory of a Deadman - Bad Girlfriend: https://youtu.be/XcJU6zsNWyM
Within Temptation - Angels: https://youtu.be/VK9qfVQ4Z04
Halestorm - Love Bites: https://youtu.be/FmkHqUwa4zg <- I can soooo see Alice doing this one!

Wow.

Cool!

That Saxon tune is one of my favorite pieces of heavy metal ever! I started listening to metal about the same time as I started playing D&D, so that one still rings true with me every time I hear it.

I dont know all the modern stuff, so I will give them a listen as I get time.

Thanks for posting this!

Nice!
You might like Moonsorrow. Finnish viking metal! It sounds a little Celtic though.

That is quite a list! I'll have to check some of those out. Many I've never heard of. My tastes are eclectic. Some time I'll detail them.

They'd be perfect to do the soundtrack for a remake of Deliverance.

James, did you get to Kenmore Square in your recent visit to Medford?

I think we may have been there last year. Our daughter walked us some miles all around Medford, and we were right by Fenway Park. We went to a nice pastries and coffee place that may have been in Kenmore Square. When we were there in April we went to the Franklin Park Zoo, which was nice. But I like the New England aquarium better.

Yeah the that place has retained its 70s aquarium aesthetics.

I came across a web site that does hilarious book cover remakes:

Wow! I never saw any thoughtful reviews of Rush like that one at the time. 2112, Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres are my all-time Rush favorites.

That was actually an ad by the record company. Also unusual to have a cerebral ad compared to the ads of the time (then and now.)
