Des will make sure that none of the prisoners has any hidden surprises and he'll confiscate everything interesting on them to hand off to one of the others as he works. He'll also make sure they're bound nice and tight.

The hobgoblins wake when you tie them. They sputter, curse, and struggle.

"Wha?", "Where's Jex?", "Kill us now!", "Who're you?", "We is dead gobs now!" is the gist what you get out of them. They have to be encouraged to move along with pokes of swords and other weapons and even then they are dragging their feet and clearly looking for a way to escape.

You meet the Villagers who were out searching on your way back. They had searched down near the lumber mill and then doubled back to see if you had better luck.

"Praise be!" enthuses their leader when he sees the boy alive and seemingly well, "Tad, my lad, we were greatly a'feared for ya!"

"And the sheep, alive and well, too!" exclaims another then pointing toward the Hobs who are cowering and trying to look small and inoffensive, "These the evil things that took 'em? A few chops from my ax will deal with them quick enough!"

Valerin steps forward "No. They need to be questioned. They are minions of the redcaps, and know more than they're saying of their leader's plans. Kill them, and you won't know when the next kidnapping, or worse will happen."

He'll not mention the Kobolds for the moment.

The party march back to the village with the tied up Hobgoblins. Once through the gates they are closed and barred. The prisoners are tossed into a small building built of stout timbers, with a thick door that is barred from the outside and with iron bars in the small window on one side.

"We will see about them in the morning." says one of the villagers.

You are all treated to a good meal and several mugs of ale and you find your spots for a night's rest.

The caravan will be moving on tomorrow, so if you want to do anything else here like question the prisoners, visit the village's temple, deal with the local mage, or dig a bit for information or rumors now is the time to do it.

Des will drink some and talk with people about the area and what things they might know about the areas they are going to before bed.

Also might I forward the idea that the Hobgoblins need to be delivered to the Baron for interrogation about the red hats? That will get them out of the this village area and the Baron won't care of a few errant Kobolds in the area since they are not causing anyone any problems. Does anyone else have any ideas?"

There is a village elder who seems to be a calmer head. You learn that the Baron has a troop of riders that go up and down this road keeping an eye on things...in fact you passed them on your way here...that are expected to be back in Hassleford (name of village) in a couple of days. You also learn that the Jon the Wader, the local cleric, would probably argue against a rush to execution for the Hobgoblins, even it they are monsters.

When you approach the strong room where the Hobs are being held you find one of the local men sitting on a bench outside the door, standing guard. You aren't going to be able to talk to the prisoners while he is there, so you will need to find a way to get him to leave for a while.

You learn that the Baron has a troop of riders that go up and down this road keeping an eye on things...in fact you passed them on your way here...that are expected to be back in Hassleford (name of village) in a couple of days. You also learn that the Jon the Wader, the local cleric, would probably argue against a rush to execution for the Hobgoblins, even it they are monsters.

When you approach the strong room where the Hobs are being held you find one of the local men sitting on a bench outside the door, standing guard. You aren't going to be able to talk to the prisoners while he is there, so you will need to find a way to get him to leave for a while.

Are either the village elder or Jon the Wader in the inn? if not Valerin will go to the local temple to speak to the cleric.
