The Stalemate

Mid Morning, Sunny, Hot, Breezy

As the wasps continue to circle overhead, the jungle pixie rushes at one of them, inducing an attack. The energy shooting pixie suddenly explodes in a bright flash of light, startling both wasp and rider.

The warrior woman puts away the life saving horn and waves her sword through the air with the obvious skills of a fighter, calling for the monkey-like enemy to come taste her steel. The wasp riders see this and decide to heed the warning, keeping their distance from her dangerously large weapon, while continuing to fire their own tiny javelins. Amun is hit with 2 of them, though for minimal damage. 4 dam

TK suddenly sprints from the grassy patch he was hiding in, making a run towards the dying Darklin, still bleeding out on the ground. As the gnome arrives, he finds his elven friend nearly dead and in dire need of healing.

The Knife

The Knife starts tearing up bits of Darklin's cloak and stuffing them into anywhere that seems to be bleeding. As he works, he expects to feel a javelin between his shoulder blades. He mutters "Pleaseletitworkpleaseletitworkpleaseletitwork!"

"It feels like home," Keyon says to no one in particular. "Like standing atop the mast with the wind in your face and the ship skimming the waves beneath you." Despite their current predicament, the elf slips into song.

Let every man here drink up his full bumper,

And let us be jolly and drown melancholy,
Drink a health to each jovial an’ true-hearted soul.

He smiles toward the ongoing battle and prepares to join the fray.

Keyon's childish singing further irritates the Elf Maiden, so she concentrates on the conflict they are observing.

Amun is quickly getting frustrated with the cowardice of her enemies. She pulls out a dagger from her belt and throws it against the closest one putting all her rage behind the throw, rushing in closer if she has to in order to get within range.

Thrown dagger: [1d20]=20, damage: [1d4+3]=4+3=7

"GrrraaAAAAAAAAHHH!"

Then she darts for at least some partial cover, if there's a tree nearby (not the one with the dying elf though), of if there isn't, the tall grass. Hoping the sprinting will make her at least a more difficult target.

Impressive First Attack

The carpet races towards the battle with Keyon singing away, though it doesn’t appear they will arrive in time to change the outcome of the fight.

TK begrudgingly risks his tiny life to save another, staunching Darklin’s wounds, and saving the elf from slipping away any further. Again the reckless spellsword finds himself a mere pinprick away from deaths door. The mysterious gnome isn’t pleased when he learns the price of his efforts is a sharpened javelin fired from above now sticking into his back. 3 dam

Amun bats away two more mid air missiles, letting her rage flow through her body. Pulling out a wicked looking dagger once she realizes her sword is no good against these cowardice creatures, she darts amongst the rocks with precision, keeping one enemy in her view at all times. She launches the dagger perfectly, watching as it rips through the wasps thorax completely, hitting the tasloi rider in the chest, killing it as well. The wasp crashes down into the water while the rider falls straight to the cliff top, it’s tiny head exploding on impact with the rocky ground.

This gruesome sight causes another rider to flee the area completely before it experiences that same treatment, leaving only three more pesky giant wasps and their even more pesky riders to deal with.

Keyon winks at Feanol's pinched expression. "Smile, my foul-tempered rose. We'll part those wasps like seafoam before the bow, if any survive to meet us."

Privately, he fears to see still more of the creatures appearing on the horizon and keeps his eyes peeled.

Amun sprints back and forth, looking for something that will cover her - a portruding cliff, a big tree etctera. Something that will protect from the javelins and force the riders to come down and meet her in close combat.

After pulling the javelin out while trying not to scream too much, The Knife looks around. He realizes his options are fight back and die, run away and die, or...try something else and die?

He tries something else.

Reaching into the satchel by his side, The Knife pulls out a glass phial. Uncorking it, he pours the contents down his throat, winces at the foul taste, and hopes for the best.

Feeling A Little Gassy

Amun sprints around between rocks and the few branches she can get cover from. She staggers her movements, avoiding any more attacks, but is unable to lure the wasps close enough to use her sword on them. She notices that the pair of freakish monsters only has 3 javelins left between them, so they appear to be waiting for a better opportunity. She also sees the string of daggers still strapped across Darklin’s unmoving form.

Taking his sweet time drinking an unknown potion he’s found recently, TK suddenly transforms from a tiny gnome into a cloud of yellowish gas. Floating up from the ground, the cloud is instantly caught up in the strong ocean breezes and starts to blow out towards the marshlands.

"Curious," the elf mutters. "What sorcery is this?" He watches the battle grow stranger by the second.

Amun sets off towards the unconscious elf to arm herself with more missiles, throwing her own second dagger mid stride, it flying wide of the enemy. She tries to criss cross, hoping to draw out the last javelins of the wasp riders.

The green pixie is nowhere to be seen?

"I don't know, but something weird is going on. Have you noticed that at every single battle we've had something strange happens? Like the giant crab, the woman, the beam of light..."

The Knife

With little choice in the matter, The Knife rides along with the breeze. Using whatever control he has of his form, he tries to drop towards the ground. He attempts to get into the lee of any bush, tree, log, rock or gully in order to drop his speed and eventually slow to a halt.

Feeling A Little Gassy

More missiles fly through the breeze but none slake their thirst on the blood of their enemies.

The near miss of the warriors dagger, and the sight of her arming herself with several more, is enough to make the remaining pair of wasp riders rethink their battle plan. They begin flying out over the marshland, attempting to escape the crazed woman’s wild fury.

Gassy TK drops, settling his yellow cloud closer to the ground and out of the way of the stronger breeze. He is slowly able to float back to the area where the battle took place, watching as Keyon and the others eventually arrive, quite surprised to find Darklin nearly dead and that their gnome has somehow transformed into a wild human woman. The strange pixie witnessed earlier is nowhere to be seen.

Actions?

Unless Amun wants to chase after the final wasps, we can have her retrieving her daggers when the magic carpet full of strangers finally arrives. This should be fun.

When the party lands their carpet, Amun has collected her daggers and fetched a very dirty backpack from somewhere in the grass where it obviously was hidden.

As they approach they can see that she's still panting, having collected all wasp and rider bodies in a pile, saying some sort of prayer (?) over them. She is partly tainted with blood, her long dark hair tangled across her face. Her giant sword, with circles drilled into it, driven down in the ground next to her.

She watches the party calmly as they approach.

"This one is Amun. She made promise to gnome, and gnome made promise back. All enemies slain or driven away, cjast nad njihovim dusama. Can their carpet carry them away from this island?"

She points towards the elf.

"Friend is alive. Played with death."
