I'd love to see a Guardians of the Flame movie series.
You read my mind, exactly. I loved, loved, loved The Sleeping Dragon growing up. I doubt, however, they could ever be made without serious revision as the books (at least the first) dealt with some dark topics.
And they were only the better for it 8-) !

Even 10-15 years ago I might argue that there could be a chance.

Next to zero chance today.

Less than zero in the US. Can't speak for other countries. I have always watched shows from other countries, mostly subtitled and they clearly have different "standards" on what they will do.

Well, you always have to allow for a chance. Even in the US.

I'm thinking more feature-length film than TV series, but it would most likely need to be either a small indie director, or the exact opposite. Someone like Quentin Tarantino, who's never been fearful of taking on strong subject material, could probably pull it off.

Yeah, I agree the chance is very, very low in your country. And as a general rule, other countries have their own writers' books to base movies on.
For example, if I wanted to shoot an RPG movie, I'd use a Swedish short story about Call of Chthulhu...since I suspect it would be way more relatable to the potential viewers.
So Guardians of the Flame might simply be out of luck. Or, even more likely, if Hollywood was to adapt it, they'd "adapt it" so thoroughly nobody would be able to recognize it.
You know, the way the British "adapted" sir Terry Pratchett's works, and the way the Witcher was "adapted", and the way the Barsoom stories were "adapted" - if the name of the character wasn't John Carter, I'd have never guessed it might be the same person  .

I didn't know this was even being produced. It starts this week. I will keep my expectations in check :).

Wheel of Time looks good. However, I have not read any of the books, so I have no expectations going in.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
