Yesterday was my last day at work; after 25 years in the NC public school system, I'm done.
They can kiss my ass.
More time for gaming, music, sitting around the fire, and sipping whiskey.

Not wanting to get in over his head, Ambergris retraces his steps down the hallway, and emerges in the main room to a sight he hasn't seen in...well, maybe ever!
Lesh and Tommy are engaged in battle with the wights, while Yarl and Lady Wen are cowering at the end of the hallway to his left and Bobb and Keever are cowering in the hallway to his right.
A double blast from the grave staggers Tommy and suddenly the wight shimmers and disappears! Only to reappear near Bobb and Keever, which, naturally, sets off them screaming in terror.
How long is Yarl shitting himself in the corner?
Do I post actions in case it ends?

Here is the description for the spell Fear:
You project a phantasmal image of a creature’s worst fears. Each creature in a 30-foot cone must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or drop whatever it is holding and become frightened for the duration. While frightened by this spell, a creature must take the Dash action and move away from you by the safest available route on each of its turns, unless there is nowhere to move. If the creature ends its turn in a location where it doesn’t have line of sight to you, the creature can make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the spell ends for that creature.
So, right now, you can still see the wights, albeit they are in the shadows of a lantern held by Keever. There is also some light from the tunnel (from which Ambergris emerges). Should you run there...or should the wights be defeated, you will get another saving throw.

Hey folks > April came in with a gale here in NC. My wife and I were in Beaufort, NC most of last week; she was there for a work conference, and I was just tagging along. ;)
Beautiful little coastal town. We ate some great food, took in an open mic night at a local pub, and even to a ferry to Cape Lookout, the oldest lighthouse on the NC coast. Wild horses on the island, dolphins in the sound...it was a good time.

Speaking of, now is a good time to take stock of this game.
You have successfully cleaned out the hospital, even the mausoleum below (there may be a zombie or two left, but nothing major down there). I know there is still some unresolved business with Spearmint's character (Ambergris), and maybe some fallout from killing off Amrik Vanthampur and Straightstick.
But, to be honest, I'm leaning toward marking this game "complete" and moving on.
Thoughts? Talk to me.

Sure, I am happy to archive Ambergris for a while and we can reboot adventures in Baldur's Gate when you are refreshed and envisioned for more.

Apart from his Warlock Pact and visions, Ambergris has no particular character thread or storyline to follow through so taking a break is not an issue. I had fun playing him, especially in more out of combat situations.

I do find some aspects of 5e a bit much (the actions, reactions, bonus actions, interruptions, opportunity strikes) it might be fine as Turn based action around a table but can be hard to stay on top of in PBP.

I would like to keep playing.
I am enjoying Yarl, enjoying the Gate' and your storytelling.

As long as you are happy to DM, I am very happy to continue.

I'm with computer+1, if you want to continue I'm in :)
i wouldn't mind changing the ruleset and keeping the story
but if you need to take a break or shelve the campaign just shout out when you want to pick it up

Morning fellers > I appreciate your feedback.
Two things:
1/ I want to keep playing; I just don't want to do so using 5e rules. I'm leaning heavily toward Pathfinder 2e, but I'm also open to 3.5 D&D.
2/ I can keep playing in Baldur's Gate, but my preference is to go where the rule set takes me. Pathfinder takes me to the world of Golarion, and while I do not know as much about that setting as the Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk, I have a lot of material to explore. AD&D 3.5 isn't setting specific, so it can be used anywhere.
3/ (okay I thought of something else) Regardless of setting and rules, I would like to have a 1-2 more players going forward. I'm blessed with four of the best players in this game > that's YOU > and I would like to add 1 or 2 more. We began with...8? 9? players but several left the game for various reasons. Attrition is expected in any online game...at least in my experience.

I will have to dig out my dusty 3.5ed of D&D. I have no experience with Pathfinder though am assuming it is very much like 3.5ed.

Warlocks as a class do not feature in earlier editions unless tailored as a specialist of the mage class. I would be fine rolling up a new character to fit a new thematic campaign.

I am happy to use different rules. I dont have Pathfinder or 3.5 books but I bet its all online anyway.

Its up to you if you want us to port the existing characters to the new system or start new ones. The only sad part of starting new is that we as a group only just came together and just for the fighting. But it is what it is!

I am fine with additional players, the attrition is always a frustration but we have a great core group.

The Sorcerer class in Pathfinder would fit Ambergris pretty well; he could have a Diabolical or Demonic, or even a Fey bloodline which would still put him in the service to Dendar the Night Serpent. ;)

Yeah, most of the rules are online and pretty easy to access. I wouldn't want anyone to go out and purchase a book to game.
And I can go either way with characters > I have NO issues at all with you converting Yarl over to Pathfinder; he's a fighter. It's an fairly easy conversion. My preference would be for our group to stay the same. But, if someone wants to create a new character, that's cool.

Are going to shift the party from Baldurs Gate to a new location if we keep the characters?
I would love to keep cursing, I mean playing Yarl.

Not 100% on that, but maybe.
There are ways of getting to Golarion via the Realms

I may want to make a new character. I looked at 3.5 and looks a bit confusing but haven't looked at Pathfinder yet. I might change my mind when I check that out.
