Silvestri is somewhat relieved when Syrus states that the paralysis is likely to receed.

He waits patiently, healing his leafy friend if he can.

Palakan Mountains; 329D/81 (Afternoon)

After a couple of minutes, Silvestri can move his limbs and then stand relatively stable. It might take a few more minutes to fully recover from the paralysis and be able to walk about. Others spend time assessing their wounds and watching for more adversaries.

”Thankfully the camels were kept clear of harm,” Syrus comments. ”We should resume breaching the vault’s shell.” He looks around for the saw, realizing is must still be at the bottom of the excavation.

Nothing stirs in the pit or from the hole drilled into the vault by Bruce. The pressure differential inside the buried chamber appears to have equalized.

Silvestri applies his healing powers to Denslow.

Psychic Healing: [2d5+3] = 6+3 = 9

Psychic Healing: [2d5+3] = 6+3 = 9

EDIT: added 2 rolls for psychic healing - that ended with the same result each time

Kurot applies some field repairs to his damaged subsystems. He looks around to see who will resume the excavation.

Nods assent to Syrus' suggestion and moves toward the excavation to resume breaching the outer shell.

Palakan Mountains; 329D/81 (Late Afternoon)

Silvestri, now fully recovered from paralysis, lays hands on Denslow to slowly rejuvenate the plantient’s bark that was damaged by the mutant microbes. Denslow thanks his psychic comrade and jubilantly flexes his appendages.

Kurot removes various items from a haversack and repairs sections of his structure. (+4 hp)

Bruce acknowledges Syrus and asks Farmanus to lower him back into the pit. There, he uses Syrus’ saw to cut a rectangular hole large enough to facilitate ingress into the vault. Peering in, the android sees a chaotic collection of square and rectangular containers piled at the bottom of a sloped floor nearly 30ft away. Light from the hole reveals cabinet-like structures are strapped to the walls of this 30ft long, 10ft wide and 8ft high chamber pitched down at 60-degrees off horizontal. He can’t determine any additional details without brighter illumination.

Bruce stands and conveys his findings to those observing from the top of the excavation.

Denslow says, I can go in there if needed. I think I still have a glow stick or two so I can see. Otherwise, I can hold the rope, rooting down so you don't slip too badly.

What do you want from the container, Syrus?

Silvestri shakes his head, "You are still quite injured, Denslow. I will climb down to Bruce and use the goggles to take a closer look before anyone enters. "

Silvestri activates and adjust his goggles. The interior of the chamber becomes fully visible with various colors differentiating materials types, reflectivity and densities. A layer of unknown film appears to coat everything, including the structural envelope of the chamber.

From the access hole, the following items are discernable:

(5) 2X2X2 ft metal cases
(2) 2ft Dia. x 6ft cylinders
(4) Lumps of wax roughly 1ft square
(2) 2x2x6 ft. cabinets constructed from artificial bone (plastic) strapped to the wall

Random straps and tie-downs litter the compartment. At the back of the chamber, letters in ancient Ongish spell out a word on a rectangular panel.

Kurot's ears pick up. Well, not literally; he lacks the actuators necessary for independent auriclear movement. Which is a shame, really: directional aural sensors would be an awesome upgrade feature. He adds an entry to his internal "Notes to Self" list to look into the availability of such things.

"I know Onglish," he says. "Let me take a look."

Syrus listens to Silvestri outline the contents of the chamber. ”The five metal cubes and one of the cabinets strapped to the wall are definitely part of my claim.” The Lantican states. “The cylinders might contain the artificial insects I seek,” he adds.

Kurot takes the goggles from Silvestri and looks at the writing on the container's wall. It doesn’t take him long to identify that the characters spell “Ozkin”, the name of the ancient air ship.

Bruce

If you don't mind, I'm going to take a moment to effect some minor repairs. If you need me just call.

Bruce steps aside from the opening and goes rigid and his eyes lose focus as he reorganizes his internals for repair.

“Good plan,” agrees Kurot. When the rope is ready, he climbs down.

Sorry to have held things up—I hadn’t noticed that an action for Kurot was needed.

Palakan Mountains; 329D/81 (Late Afternoon)

Denslow, Farmanus and Syrus help Silvestri and Kurot rappel into the chamber. The two steady their footing and secure the containers for retrieval. Kurot examines the 1 ft. lumps of waxy material and sees a mechanical bee imbedded inside. The wax is hard and durable; handling it does not cause any degradation. The five 2x2x2 ft silver metal cubes are marked with a blue symbol of a jagged line inside a square. The two 2ft x 6ft cylinders are made from paperboard and appear well preserved. One has a broken end allowing Silvestri to see a lump of wax material inside that is identical to the four loose in the vault. These four presumably dumped out of this ruptured cylinder.

It takes some effort to detach the 2x2x6 ft. bone-colored, bone-like (plastic) cabinets off the wall. Both are latched and of identical weight, so you assume they contain the same items. After the cubes and cylinders are removed to the surface, an odd object the size of a large shoe is discovered by Silvestri. It is black and silver metal with an oval base and T-shaped handle.

Syrus examines his claim after the containers are organized around the excavation pit. He taps and shakes the silver cubes, pleased at their condition. He checks the wax lumps for damage and places them next to the paperboard cylinders. The Lantican kneels and opens one of the rectangular cabinets to reveal eight 5ft long black poles with a red line down one side. He shuts the cabinet, looks at the other and then addresses Denslow.

”That would be yours,” he coolly states.

Bruce spends time repairing the damage inflicted by the mutant microbes. (3hp restored)

Silvestri

While Syrus is examine the finds, Silvestri looks at the odd object he found, seeing if there any symbols or controls he recognises from other artifacts he has seen.
