Extolay is a major trading hub. on the edge of the Lanth Subsector, within easy jump of Regina and on the Spinward main. The Citizens of this world have created a world to be proud of. They have one of the highest GDP, and personal wealth levels, of worlds in Lanth (beaten only Lanth, Turedad, and Icetina).

The ruling council insures that everyone is treated fairly, including those from outside the Imperium. There are large Vargr (12% 30.5 million) and Aslan (8% 21 million) communities on Extolay. The Vargr are integrated into the planet's society, but the Aslan have isolated themselves into 3 large enclaves where their society is very much like that of their homeworlds.

The prosperity of this system would make it a target in a major war, so the 77th wing of the 1st Spinward marches fleet is based here. This, of course, keeps piracy away. There has not being a case of piracy reported in Extolay in nearly a hundred years.

Extolay's environment is excellent for the growing of all sorts of Agricultural products, but the population is too large to qualify for an AG trade code. There is a large light industry segment of the Extolay economy, but little in the way of heavy industry.

The capital of the planet is Rina, however the economic capital is still Oprey, which is where the Starport is located and where the majority of off world trade arrives.

It occurs to you that the LSP Factor in residence must be extremely powerful as he/she controls all goods coming in from off world and going back out.

The ship comes out of jump about 20 diameters away from Extolay's mainworld. You immediately pick up a continual loop over the radio announcing that all ships must immediately turn on their transponder and identify themselves.

Once Connie Malone is identified you are hailed by the IN Traffic Control *and* the Starport Traffic Control on separate channels. INTC lays out interdicted areas and routes around Extolay with the warning that ships that violate these spaces will be subject to attack and/or confiscation. Extolay Traffic Control gives you a narrow corridor to follow into orbit where you will be dock with the local UpPort for inspection.
