Hi everyone, this should be fun.

Not sure if this should go here, or in character creation, but I'm thinking of an engineer, pilot or doctor type.

This, of course, depends on character creation instructions, and I'm flexible.

I agree - I am looking forward to this game!

Where we are:
I've got some work to do on the wiki site but would like you guys to start talking about what kind of game you want it to be? For now I'll list several themes. You list your two favorites:

-Action
-Adventure
-Exploration
-Politics
-Trade/Merchants
-Smugglers
-Pirates
-Heroic
-Low Fantasy - The stories are smaller and while you might do good/bad, you won't change the shape of the galaxy
-Mystery

I'll add more if I think of any but this will help me understand how to populate your starting point.

I like the themes of politics, trade/merchants, and smuggling. I am open to the others but feel these may suit the character goals that are swirling around in my imagination.

Exploration and trade would be my pick

I like exploration and smuggling, although I'd settle for trade instead of smuggling.

I'm on board for something more interaction focused, so smuggling, trade, or heists all sound great to me. I'd rather avoid this turning into a dungeon crawl so looting abandoned sites and to some extent exploration are things I'd be less interested in.

To that point, I think site exploration to some extent may be inevitable but will be limited in size

I've finally been able to log on just now; everything I try to come here I get a malicious website warning for the forums. Anyone else had this issue?

The only thing malicious here will be the GM.

But seriously I haven't seen that before.

I have not gotten that warning but the site is listed as Connection Is Not Secure for me in my address bar.

State of the Sector

-We are making good progress getting character sheets up. For those of you who still want to play but haven't gotten a sheet up, please try to get a draft together by early next week. I'm taking a look and recommending adjustments where needed.
-My hope is to start real posting next week
-To do that though I'd like a few more posts regarding the type of game we want. I don't think we've heard from everybody yet.
-Either way I'm working on background and setting info. I think its coming along even though I've been swamped at work lately.
-Let me know how you visualize your homeworld. It's a useful way for me to build out more detail in pockets around the sector. If I don't hear from you, I'll probably assign you something. I hope those that have gotten their homeworlds are happy with what I've sent them.

No, what browser/antivirus do you have?
