Max notices that both of the girls are now staring off in a westerly direction, squinting intently as if they are listening for something over the normal din of the jungle.

Attempting to listen himself, the elf would swear that he hears soft music of some kind coming from far off in the distance to the west.

Action?

Max

Ladies, grab some bamboo and head back to camp. We don't need to be fighting with anything. Come on let's get out of here.

If they do not respond he will grab their hands and lead them back to town.

One of the girls moves her head back and forth rapidly, as if to shake out any cobwebs, before quickly moving to carry out Max's request.

The second girl just stands there for a moment, listening to the soft tune on the breeze. Then she starts walking west into the thick jungle, towards the source of the music.

Daisy
Daisy wakes early- earlier than she really wanted to, if her grunts and muttering are any indication.

She performs her morning prayers, then returns to Narrimore. She examines his wounds, makes sure they are clean and un-infested by insect larvae and eggs, then begins prayers for the man.

After making sure Narramore is as comfortable as he can be, Daisy will go for breakfast and a bath in the ocean.

Sure as sunrise, there'll be things The Mayor needs to take care of... Saying this, Daisy will take a walk through Beachtown, making herself available.

The young girls who were helping with the construction of the Healing House return early to get back to work on the reed matts.

"Morning Mayor Daisy. We heard ya ran inta some trouble yesterday?"

Sir William Narramore

The paladin awakens with a start and immediately reaches for the sword at his waist--but his sword-arm moves far more slowly (and painfully) than he expected and he finds no sword there. Narramore absorbs his surroundings and his racing pulse slows somewhat. Obviously, the Stoneguts haven't massacred the town. He sits up and winces. Though his grevious wounds seem mostly closed, his body remains weak and his muscles lethargic.

He spies Daisy and sends her a grateful nod. "Thank you, lady. I fear I'd have perished but for your skilled care." Knowing she has much business to be about, the knight stifles his myriad questions and determines to find the others and discover what happened near the end of their encounter with the dwarves.

Once the Mayor leaves, the big man growls and grits his teeth against the lingering pain, then pushes himself upright and begins collecting his belongings. He checks, cleans, and then stows his gear, buckling his sword-belt about his waist and emerging into the hot sun.

Narramore feels like a strong gust of wind could snuff him out like a candle, but he has business to be about. He sets off down the street.

Daisy
To Narramore: Ah just did what Ah'm trained to do best. Now, darlin', Ah can't order you around- you're a grown man, after all. But you're a damn fool if you go walkin' around, lookin' for trouble. Ah strongly suggest you stay here for a while and let your body heal. She's in full "Mom Mode" when she says this.

To the girls: We had some setbacks, that's true. But we learnt some things, and we got back intact. Ah'm sorry- Ah don't know your names. After introductions, she continues: Ah appreciate the help ya'll are giving- Arvoreen knows, we need to pull together.

The young girls seem surprised when Daisy asks their names.

"I'm Ginger."

"And I'm Mary."

"Didn't you know that already?"

"We've been helping to work on this hut for a while now."

"Ya, we used to live in the common house."

But we both live with Max now, in his tent."

"Don't worry, it's not weird or anything like that. I don't think."

"He even said we could have all his stuff if he dies out in the jungle."

"Ya, he seems all right so far, for an elf. Is he?"

"Ya, is he safe to live with?"

"He's not a weirdo er anything, is he?"

The girls seem very skilled at weaving the reeds into wall sections that can be rolled up, similar to the ones used in the natives construction. They have clearly already done a good deal of work to help finish the Healing House.

Daisy
Daisy frowns. Max? Ah'm not sure Ah know a Max. There's a lot of folks in and out of Beachtown- maybe Ah know his face but not his name...
She watches the girls work for a few minutes. The Halflings are known as skilled people with weaving and carving- but ya'll got me beat hollow. Ah'll be teaching some basic healing arts classes sometime soon- if ya'll are interested, Ah'd be glad to have you as students.

After a few minutes, Daisy stands and heads off to meet and greet. Ah really appreciate your help with this place, ladies.

The girls eyes light up at the idea of learning something from the healing arts.

“That would be great! In that case, it’s our pleasure to help, Mayor Daisy!”
