Assana looks a bit shocked at the request, but complies.

You said that just like my mum says it! - It's odd. When I'm home I can't stand her fussing and now I miss her.
Nālani gives a small, tight smile: Archana is doing a fine job of raising you then, manners are important.

I think it likely she misses you more than you do her. You know where she is, which is probably the safest place anyone connected to this ship can be. We will free her when we free ourselves, Hai?
"You're welcome, and thanks for helping clear the dishes. I'm going to go see about the computer," she looks at Pranit, "unless you want me to work on something else."
Assana and I will join you shortly. Her new deck will help greatly, I think.

To Assana: See, a job to take your mind of your troubles. Work is what keeps us sane.quietly: I have a favour to ask of you first though.

Nālani makes coffee to bring to the Bridge.

A favour?

Nothing big, just a test of your new rig, before we try it on the Queen. Come, we will sit with Hoshiko while I show you what I mean.

When everything is put away again Nālani leads Assana to her stateroom.

Assuming Pranit has no objections...

Indrani makes her way to the bridge and starts to diagnose the computer.

I still have my own vacc suit, it could use some upgrading, but it is still useful, so that is one less suit needed. She gets ready for her watch.

"I'd like a vacc suit, or at least we should have one for each crew member. No need to customize it, I think, I'm going to stay here for a bit. I'm tired of being shot at."

She continues her search for the technical manual for the crate. "Do we know the provenance of that thing?" She checks the records, trying to determine where it has been the last 5+ years.

The tracing the container's history is not as easy as might be hoped (it never is). The history of being asked (as your mum's researcher) to "Find this out" has, however, given you some experience in this area
The tracking of the crate is a task that involves sorting through an ADMIN +2 (Plus ENDurance -1) task - and contacting the storage company and following that all important "paper" trail...Those deputy researchers may have been critical!

Admin(+2): [2d6]=4+2=6
END(-1): [2d6]=2-1=1

Wow.

It rapidly becomes clear that the process is long, arduous and that (perhaps) your patience isn't up to it. The events of the morning are clearly taking over your brain as you find that you just can't concentrate. It may be the right approach but today just isn't your day for doing this unaided.
