"Aye. Let us be cautious. They're probably poorly armed, but they could be too many."
Cyril

"But if they are many, we should be able to determine that in advance and from some distance away. It's not like we think these escaped slaves have the capability of hiding their numbers effectively in the wild. I agree with Drest that we close and get a look. Also...are all escaped slaves so murderous? Could it be that we try talking to them instead? Maybe scare them off returning to the fortress?"

Drest

Drest will slowly start moving towards where he saw them, being very alert and cautious.

The Zakath Desert
Late Morning

A wait and see approach is taken, with Drest and the others laying at the top of a dune, watching as the slaves draw nearer.

They crest another dune and begin their descent, allowing you to count out 7 of them in total.

They don't appear to have spotted your group as of yet, and if they continue on their current path, might actually miss your hidden position entirely.

None of these men appear to be armed, wearing only dirty lion cloths while rusting links of chain dangle from their necks and wrists.

They appear to be taking the shortest route into the desert, heading in the direction you just came from.

Drest

Drest lets them pass.

Once past and far enough away, whispering, "Lets just keep heading to the city."

Akhilleus

"Hm... fine." The warrior can't help but think about the potential treasure they're living behind, free for the taking.

I'm fine with going back. I just put that there for drama. Those are Akhilleus' thoughts :D

Xenos

"Let us recoup in Xambaalla and re-equip ourselves as much as we are able, at the very least we need more food and water. This also gives us the opportunity to find others that might be interested in joining us. I do wonder what happened to the other group, who headed off to the crypts. It should not take us long to prepare our return, maybe we can return as early as tomorrow. We cannot control who or what might turn up at the fortress in the next day or two, so I see no point in worrying about it."

"Additional hands is a good idea. We seemed like we were one or two companions short, especially after Snorri was killed."

"I tried to help him, but I was too late."

Drest

Drest leads the way back to the city once the group of slaves has passed.

Xambaala
Mid Afternoon

Allowing the renegade slaves to pass without incident, the group cautiously makes their way back into the city of Xambaala.

It is mid afternoon by the time they enter the Inner City limits, where the daily activities are in full force.

The Bazaar is loud and dusty, filled with other folks just like them out looking for adventure and riches.

If they ask around enough, they might be able to locate and reconnect with the friends they made earlier, to fill the missing holes in their crew.

If not, there are plenty of hirable mercenaries wandering the city and filling its many dens of iniquity as well.

Actions?

If you want to hook back up with the other PC's let me know who, and I will lead you in the right direction.

Check the XP thread for your rewards and fill out your sheets accordingly.

Let me know if you have personal affairs you wish to attend to now that you are back in relative safety.

Xenos

"Why don't we head to The Last Plank, get some food and drink and see if that barmaid has seen anything of the other group?"

EDIT: Who would we be most interested in? The warrior types, Cormag and Tuurma, although the druid Ceana did mention she had a dream with snake people. Not that there wouldn't be a place of the others if they were interested.

Drest

Drest will follow along to the last plank.

We need another healer of some sort if possible.

"Yes. Le'ts head to the Last Plank. Lodging, food and drinking is what we need. And there we can find someone, probably."

I'd say healing type and fighting type would be most helpful.

Cyril
"Rest would be welcome. Azathoth has been whispering in my ear much of the day. It has something important to tell me in my dreams..."

Cyril does get another spell at level 2 but I'd prefer not to spend more than 2 out of 4 slots on healing. So yeah, we've already proven we need more healing I think.

Good point about healing and I understand about how you might want to apply your new spells and slot to something other than healing. Xenos got his first 2nd Level spell :)

Drest

We are improving. I am not suggesting turning anyone into a healer only. Just that it has clearly been our biggest weakness and we should try and address it somehow.

So, everyone is content here then?

XP rewards are logged?

Sheets are updated?

I just want to make sure none of you want any of the listed treasure before I toss those unwanted magic items away.

Did we already forget what I mentioned about keeping track of your own sheets?

Sheet updated. Money was already divided out. Magic Items:

Finding the 8" x 8" glass pane, Wand of Blinding?, and 2 - Amulets of Disguise Self?

I believe Cyril had one of the amulets? What about the other? It might be useful for a sneaky person, i.e. Drest. We ought to get the wand and the glass pane identified, but I doubt we can afford that at the moment. Xenos is happy to look after the wand for now.

Sorry, on second thoughts Xenos is quite happy to take one of the amulets of disguise rather than the wand.

Drest

Drest will take the pane and wand if no one wants them since Xenos is taking the amulet. Coin was split already.

Sheet updated for pane and wand.
