Rex: Skill updated, 12 spent, 2 left over......as this will be the last time to update skills, you may as well spent the last 2.....

Any of the following KNOWLEDGE skills could be improved to 2D+1: Bureaucracy; Cultures; Languages (anything other than English); Medicine; Academics; Streetwise; Tactics; Technology

OR any of the following TECHNOLOGY skills could be improved to 2D+1: Demolition; Equipment Repair; Car Repair; Security; Airplane Repair; Ship Repair; Armored Vehicle Repair, Radar Repair, Sonar Repair, Radio Repair

I'd say the most likely candidates would be Tactics, Medicine, Equipment Repair, Demolitions....but with a year off....really anything could do.

ateno/Eric: Character updated, you actually only spent 11 (+3 to go from 3D+2 to 4D; then 4 to go to 4D+1 and finally 4 more to get to 4D+2; 3 + 4 + 4 = 11.

You have 2 points left and can improve any of the following TECH skills to 2D+1: Equipment Repair; Car Repair; Security; Airplane Repair; Ship Repair; Armored Vehicle Repair, Sonar Repair, Radio Repair

Since Roker often needs to carry around a radio and isn't that great of a shot anyway, whatever is (relatively) lightweight without being useless is fine with him.

As for skill points, let's spend them thusly:

Stamina +1 (3) to 3D+2
Hide +1 (3) to 3D+2
Dodge +1 (3) to 3D+2
Brawl +1 (4) to 4D+1

If anyone hasn't seen "The Sand Pebbles" movie yet, I'd highly recommend it. It's an old movie with Steve McQueen, and classic 70s actors Mako and Candice Bergman, I think. It's not really a war movie. It's kind of war movie, the way "Apocalypse Now" is a war movie. And also based on a classic novel. But with "The Sand Pebbles," the setting in China during what's called "The Boxer Rebellion." Grim in the end, but amazingly good, I think.

Hey, I'm glad somebody got the reference from the Steve McQueen picture! :)

It is a good movie....slight correction though (inner History Major in me, sorry!) it's not set during the Boxer Rebellion (which was right at the Turn of the 19th/20th Century and DID have a lot of Westerns fighting various Chinese factions in China....a sad story that continued for the better part of the century) but during the 1920s during the 'War Lord' era of China.

The U.S. Navy had a number of gunboats that sailed up and down the Yangzte River in the 1920s and 1930s in that time...'protecting U.S. interests'; and these shallow water ships saw action that would much later be quite similar in a lot of ways to the 'brown water Navy' in Vietnam with the Swift Boats and the like.

Anyway, worth checking out!

I'm sorry, I thought everyone got the reference, but I'm a old guy. Ha.

Reminds me of my old service, the Coast Guard a bit.
