Ko-Nan staggers to his feet. He notices that his surroundings have changed since it all went black. He raises his weapon sluggishly and scans the room for enemies.

Mad Alchemist's Laboratory (2), The Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Three. Morning, March 27th, 912 CY

In the bizarre laboratory, among the dizzying, inexplicable array of color, glass and steam, Fiefo LeBratt finds a bubbling pink concoction and recklessly tests it with a delicately extended pinky claw. The rat-man tastes something sickeningly sweet and sees a scrape on his forearm close! (+1 hp) Mysterious elixirs of blue, green and purple await, untested.

Adrock calls once more upon his mighty deity to mend his insensate companions and, in his mercy, Tee-Emm-Zee anoints them with miraculous healing (+8hp each, Maskelyn and Jeojand!)

Jeojand the cat-mancer regains consciousness. But Maskelyn, who had been hovering on the brink of death, remains still.

Meanwhile, Chaka climbs down and looks for more of the skyscraper's iron veins, but the cabinets under the tables prevent him from seeing behind or beneath them. Moving the tables would risk toppling the bewildering complex constructs of hue and crystal atop them. Atop nearby tables glimmer sparkling buttons, dials and switches.

Ko-Nan the barbarian regains his feet and joins Tullia the ranger in scanning the room. At its far end, the warriors discover a glass tank filled with thick glowing liquid. As they move closer, they see that within the luminous coagulant, a strange, brain-like shape floats eerily!

Fiefo mentally sighs in relief, but outwardly tries to play it cool. "Yeah... just like I thought. This one's for healing." he says. He grabs the pink potion and walks over to where Maskelyn still lies on the floor. "I got this," he says, motioning the others back a step. He dumps half the potion down the illusionist's throat and waits to see what happens.

DM:

The rodent-man carefully pours some of the pink elixir down Maskelyn's gullet. (+8hp!)

The gnome conjurer sits up with a start before Fiefo can give him half the potion. Like Jeojand and Ko-Nan, Maskelyn awakens to surroundings even more bizarre that those he left!

Actions?

Maskelyn

The gnome coughs and sputters. Still only partially conscious, he mutters, Dammit, Houdin!

When he's fully aware, he stands- carefully, favoring a still-sore ribcage- and begins exploring the room. He keeps his hands behind his back, careful not to touch anything.

When he sees the brain, he stares. This may be the ancient God Donofan!!

Jeojand regains consciousness with a feline stretch of the jaw and spine. "Well this is a strrrange place…"

Seeing the effects of the pink elixir, he scans the table to see if there are any more vials of the stuff for himself, downing one if he can find it. If not, he moves over to the brain vat and taps the glass for a response.

Fiefo pauses with the vial halfway to his pack and scowls grumpily. “Fine, ok. Remember me when I need some of that magic... whatever it is you do,” he says, handing it over. “Give the rest to Ko-Nan. He looks like hell - I don’t want to have heroically carried his unconscious arse in here for nothing...”

Tullia

... is still scouting the lab, hoping to discover the purpose of the experiments in it. Hearing Fiefo dosing others with mysterious pink liquid, she shakes her head and sighs. You folks are going to kill yourselves if you keep eating or drinking random things we find along the way

Ko-nan comes to focus on the wizardly looking devices around the room and spits. He curses the devilish tricksters. He also now doesn't see any immediate threat from the metal monsters and inquires "Are they all dead??"

Chaka looks up at the huge barbarian.

"Not dead. Just waiting. Outside door."

Seeing the good fortune that the rat-man had with the elixir, the ape-boy tries a tiny taste of the purple liquid as he points out the 2 others to the cat-man.

"Try blue. Chaka need heal too."

Mad Alchemist's Laboratory (2), The Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Three. Morning, March 27th, 912 CY

In the smoking, bubbling, frothing kaleidoscope of beakers, bottles and flasks, Fiefo gives the remainder of the strange pink liquid to Adrock and Ko-Nan, emptying the glass vial of its weird, miraculous concoction. (+4hp each)

Jeojand the sorcerous feline searches in vain for another pink-hued elixir. He finds only blue, green and purple remaining.

Chaka the ape-boy tries a small sip of the purple potion. It tastes fruity and delicious but he feels no change or effect. (Please roll 1d20, twice, and post your actions regardless of the results.)

Tullia keeps searching for the purpose of this bizarre chamber but the arcane experiments of mad wizards elude the ranger. Passing more strange tables covered in buttons, switches and dials, she discovers a turn in the room's western end.

Meanwhile, Jeojand inspects the brain-like creature in the vat of viscous liquid. He taps the glass and suddenly, the brain-thing speaks!

"Who?!"

The light in its tank blinks with each syllable. A dark box near the vat's base seems to be the source of its distorted voice.

"Who... Is... There?!"

The brain creature has the voice of a Dalek!

Fiefo instinctively hisses and draws his short sword as the brain’s tinny voice rings out through the speaker. “This is where they make those things,” he says, suddenly way more creeped out than he was a minute ago.

Ko-Nan raises his weapon and offers, "This is where we destroy those things!"

Maskelyn

The gnome steps back briskly from the table with the Brain. I hope he can't contact the rest of them- if he can, the alarm has already gone off.

Despite his fright from The Brain, Maskelyn is drawn to the cabinets under the work tables. He'll open one of these (NOT the one where The Brain is) to see what's there.

Chaka pouts a little when his wounds aren't healed from drinking the elixir.

Random D20: [1d20] = 9

Random D20: [1d20] = 4
Sure hope those were Con checks. :D

He points at the last 2 potions and speaks to Tullia. "You no try magic water?"

Once the brain begins speaking he backs away from the table all together, sure this room is cursed by some potent magicks. He moves towards the corner of the hall next and peers down the area that hasn't been checked yet.

Jeojand

Jeojand raises his hand to stay the others from destroying the brain just yet. "No one in particular," he Jeojand in response. "But tell us, who are you? Are you here of your own accord, trapped as some form of hideous and unjust punishment, or amid the process of your own strange creation?"

Tullia

After finding the room makes a right turn at the far end, she carefully moves to where she can see where the passage goes. If it looks safe, she will urge the others to follow her and get out of the lab

after feeling a little better LL will begin looking around for signs or books in the ancient language that maybe he can read.
