Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Yowza.
McCloud is stuck. Any other ideas on how to get him un-floaty and unstuck, without him drifting into the demon mouth?

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
"tell the magic rope to tie around me, then pull me along when the web disappears", McCloud offers advice.
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
The web is too thick and sticky for the rope to get to McCloud, much less tie itself around him.

OOC: Can Quinn cast a stone shape to block off the demon mouth?
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Well, Stone Shape has a range of "touch..."
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
OOC: I was thinking he could touch the floor in front of the demon face and then shape the stone into a semi-circular wall to prevent McCloud from floating into the open mouth?
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Hm. AoE is three cubic feet plus one cubic foot per level. Quinn is a 13th level bard, which means he can shape 16 cubic feet of stone. The ceiling of this chamber is 30' high, and the demon face is about 24' above the floor (and about 6' tall). To block the face, the stone would need to be about 5' wide. A 28' high (let's say) by 5' wide wall would be 1.4" thick. I'd probably roll to see if a stone with those dimensions would remain standing or collapse.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
All I have left to offer is my wall of force but i did not use that as it takes 5 rounds to cast and by then he would be at the demon face/head. So i have nothing more i can use to help.

Web lasts 2 turns/level. McCloud isn't going anywhere while the web is in place. Although there is a risk of suffocation if McCloud is in the web for multiple turns, Odilo has plenty of time to cast a Wall of Force.

in that case.
Odilo "Ala kazam!" with a flourish the strange mage casts wall of force between McCloud and the demon head/face thing.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Okay. You now have McCloud stuck in a web, and a really thin Wall of Force between him and the demon face (WoF is normally in 20' blocks, but we'll fudge that a bit).

Skarlos does but shall we see what our glorious DM says about self-dispel first?

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Yes, Odilo can voluntarily dismiss his own web spell.
Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
if the web goes, McCloud dextrous as he is will grab the rope and then pull himself down it like a monkey to inch his way down to the ground level.

Odilo dispels his web spell now that the wall of force is in place.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
Odilo directs the enchanted rope to extend out as far as it can towards McCloud. Then the mage takes out a normal rope from his pack, and directs the other end of the enchanted rope to untie from the pillar and to tie to the normal rope extending it's reach. Odilo will then work to wrap the normal rope around the pillar and tie it off with help if needed.

Re: Ch. 6: One More Time Around
OOC: Wasn't touching the pillar what caused McCloud to start floating? Odilo might not want to touch any of the pillars.
