You remove the head, black goo pours out of it's neck

Sylhorn leaves the body and searches the room if nothing of interest is found he heads back out of the cavern and consults Orville. "Do you think it truly is over? Was the last demon you dealt with taken down like this?"

After we killed it we covered it with holy water and dropped the body in acid. Some of these things heal themselves.

The only thing you find is the demons broad sword

Sylhorn takes the demon's weapon. "Well I don't have acid but I did pour some holy water over it." Syl takes out the rest of the holy water and covers the demons body in holy water including the removed head. "This is the best I can do with what I have. Unless you have any other ideas." 4 vials of Holy Water removed since 1 was used earlier.

Sylhorn groans a bit "The horses might not like that idea, but it's worth a shot." the half-elf digs out a sack to put the head in and begins working with Orville to drag the body out.

it is heavy worked, but eventually you manage to drag it out of the caves. looking down you do see where some of the wounds are starting to heal slightly

Sylhorn "Well holy water didn't appear to stop the healing we had best ride fast to wherever there might be acid nearby. You have any ideas Orville?" the ranger cleric takes the time to cut off the demons wings. "That might make this bastard flightless I'm hoping."

His sticks his spear in it's heart making a new wound.

Just keep it dead until we get some acid.

Sylhorn will continue taking stops on their way back to inflict new wounds to the demon's body with his magical sword until they reach civilization where they might find acid to destroy the demons body. "Sounds fair enough."

Sylhorn nods his head "Very well let's go there."

You ride now and then stopping to be sure the wounds do not heal, and eventually reach the village

Syl "Do you mind going to see if they have acid in the town Orville? I'll stay back here with the horses and make sure he doesn't revive."

Orville nods

he is gone for about 20 minutes and returns with a glass jar.

this should do the trick

He pours the liquid on the neck of the demon it sizzles and bubbles as it east away the skin and bone

Sylhorn "Nicely done shall we get more and cover the rest of the demon's body?"

sure better safe than sorry

he will go and get a bucket of the stuff and dump it on the body.

Syl tosses the sack with the head in it near the body before Orville pours the acid on the body. "Alright well lets give it a bit make sure the wounds don't heal then I think we can call this mission completed?" if there was not enough in the bucket for the head Slyhorn will go back with Orville to get more acid to dump on the chopped off wings and head.

you pour the bucket over the remains. it sizzles and melts the skin. After watching you do not see any wounds heal.

Sylhorn dusting off his hands "Well that is settled. But i suppose we should wait a bit more then probably bury the bones? Or just leave them for the wolves. But why do I get this sense that things are not entirely over..." he says to Orville.
