Yes, there are quite a few leaves on the ground, and there are trees the halfling can get up into; although, he might need a little help. :)

"A dog?! No! That's preposterous! Rex was just a little pup."
Then, "Ah! Smell this fresh air! Good for sleeping!"

About half a mile into the forest, the party stops at a small clearing. Favin and Duran hobble the horses, while Yon goes off to collect firewood. You estimate there to be about 30 more minutes of daylight. Favin suggests, “We should set up watches. Duran, Yon, and I will take first watch.”
I’ll need you guys to agree on a watch order. Also, I'll need to know where Phineas is going to be in the marching order. I'm sure it will be close to Aric so that he can be within launching reach. :D

Hex will either settle in and cover himself with leaves or climb at tree and tie himself to a broad limb for sleeping. He will ask for middle watch if possible.

Kragg will "sleep" however he will actually be doing something else since he is a sneak in the shadows and able to see in the infra-spectrum in the dark.

Osprey Palearctic, elven fighter/magic-user

Osprey will be on third watch so as to spread out spell casters amongst the three watches.

Luna volunteers for 4th watch. He lays his blanket out and begins his evening prayers.

Phineas T. Codswallop, impresario:

Phineas will happily join first watch. Then, an hour into it, he yawns and can't keep his eyes open.
"On second thought, my friends. I'm more somnolent than I thought! It's been quite a day! I'll gladly take third watch after my quiescence," he tells the first watch. "Good night!"

Phineas then sleeps through the rest of first watch, second watch, and third watch unbeknownst to first watch.
Middle of the marching order please. Around 4 or 5?

The night is rather peaceful as crickets and frogs sing their nightly choruses, and a gentle breeze blows through the trees. The group sets up watches for the evening, and the priests pray to their respective deities, while Hexalon and Osprey study their dense tomes to replenish their magicks.

The first watches of the night prove uneventful as Osprey, Aric, and Luna take up the final watch of the evening. Aric prods the embers of the campfire with a stick, pondering the peculiar ways of "civilized" men; he doesn't understand their laws, religions, or their outlandish practices, nor does he care to. Osprey sits close by sharpening the blade of his longsword with a whetstone, while Luna studies a small book of scripture by the light of the fire.

It is nearing the end of their watch, when Aric catches sight of two tiny points of light through the brush.

Opsrey remains deathly silent, not moving a muscle, listening to the faint rustling sounds through the leaves that only his elven ears can discern.
Luna is rapt in his studies and is unaware of anything unusual.

Suddenly, one of the horses emits a bloodcurdling scream that sounds all too close to being human, and without further warning, two mangy dogs burst forth from the depths of the forest. They are wearing crude leather collars, and their tongues loll from their frothing mouths.

Just on the heels of the dogs, three large creatures rush in from different sides of the camp. They are about seven feet tall, with light yellow skin and dingy reddish brown fur that smells absolutely horrible. A couple of the beasts wear mismatched pieces of armor, and they carry spiked clubs and spears. Their red pupils glow maliciously in the firelight as they converge upon the group.

Luna is taken by surprise as one of the hulking creatures swings a club that strikes true, leaving a vicious gash in the young cleric's forehead (6 hp).

The party scrambles for their weapons and gear as the creatures close in.

Actions!
Party Surprised by Bugbears? 1/3 [1d6] = 1 Yes
- Osprey's Dexterity Reaction Adj. prevents him from being surprised.
- Aric is not surprised because of his mere 5% chance as a barbarian (Aric Surprised? (5%): [1d100] = 39)
-Unfortunately, Luna is surprised.

Bugbear #1 Attack: [1d20] = 8; Damage: [1d6] = 4 Miss

Bugbear #2 Attack: [1d20] = 16; Damage: [1d6] = 6 Hit

Bugbear #3 Attack: [1d20] = 5; Damage: [1d6] = 5 Miss

If the ghastly screams of the horses and the yells of battle and snarling of hounds wake up the halfling prestigidator Hex will quickly untie himself from his broad branch as quietly as he can.

Kragg tries to sneak around in the dark to get the jump on one of the beasts that is trying to attack the party in the night.
attempting a Hide in Shadows and a Move Silently here. Yes I'm attempting to do a backstab move. Backstab [1d20 +4] = 12+4 = 16 to Hit [1d4 x2] = 1x2 = 2 s/m Dmg [1d3 x2] = 3x2 = 6 Lrg Dmg

Osprey Palearctic, elven fighter/magic-user

Osprey leaps up and swings his long sword at the nearest bugbear.

To hit with LONGSWORD [1d20+1] = 3+1 = 4; Damage S/M [1d8] = 3; Damage L [1d12] = 1

Go ahead and roll a d8. You can roll for your own spell.

Brother Wil rises and moves gracefully into a jumping spin kick that attempts to crunch the skull of the attacking beast....

To hit with Open Hand [1d20] = 15; Damage S/M/L: [1d3] = 2
Monk Ability - STUN when 'to hit' roll is >/= 5 needed to hit enemy AC; Chance to KILL (% below enemy AC): [1d100] = 23

Phineas T. Codswallop, impresario:

Phineas readies the bow he "borrowed" from a dead-eyed circus trickshooter and, without a word, fires arrows out of the darkness into the backs of two unsuspecting, bestial monsters!
"Hmmm," he ponders. "Man-eating gorillas! From the deepest, darkest jungle! I hope we catch one alive!"
