Themon follows the group, holding the lantern high.

I like doors. Doors usually lead to rooms and rooms lead to valuable objects.

Beykoyun

Beykoyun stands against the door of the newly opened room. He tightens and relaxes his sword grip. As Brooku moves to listen at the closed door and others towards the archway, he looks back into the large statue room for any signs of movement from the other archways.

The adventurers enter the room, spreading out as they do, on full alert. Brooku approaches and listens at the door in the southeast corner, but hears nothing. Like the other door, it is of stone, taller than a man, with a knob placed somewhat higher than would be comfortable for a man to reach.

Peering down the darkened corridor, Tiarsus can see that it runs for forty feet before dead-ending in a wall. It's hard to tell from where he stands, but it looks like the dead end is in fact a "T" intersection.

The rest of the adventurers stay alert for danger, but nothing happens.

"Why don't we check what's behind this door before moving on?"

Beykoyun

"Agreed. The more we look, the more we may figure out what this place was for and what type of areas we are in."

This door opens less easily than the first, offering some resistance at first before being pushed open. The adventurers find themselves in a dusty hallway that runs to their right, the west. Directly across the hallway from them is another door, set into the southern wall.

The hallway dead-ends immediately to their left, the east. About twenty feet to their west the adventurers espy a dusty mound in the middle of the hallway floor. It looks to be about six inches high, perhaps four or five feet long, but they cannot tell what it is from where they stand.

Themon holds his lantern high to get a better look at the dusty mound.

What the hell is that?

Atticus

"A body? Bugs of some kind?"

He creeps forward, slowly, trying to get a better look.

Brooku

Tries to determine if there is a smell of rotting flesh or other potential dead being related to the pile in the hallway. He really has to concentrate on whether there is an odor being issued by the pile because well ... Mutton is right there.

Cearc
Cearc is watching the mound holding the crossbow. He tries to stifle his first response to Themon, but fails miserably.
From here it looks like that creature you were cozying upto at the tavern in town

The adventurers advance down the hallway to investigate. The hallway runs for a full forty feet, turning left (south) at the far end. The bundle in the hallway that had drawn their attention proves to be first sign of life -- or former life -- they have encountered thus far. A jumble of bones is covered in a thick layer of dust. The bones look to be human, and there is no evidence of clothing immediately visible. It's hard to tell exactly what befell this individual, so covered in dust and grime are the remains. It will likely take the remainder of the turn to perform a thorough investigation.

Cearc

Cearc lowers the crossbow slightly.

I am happy to look around but I won’t be digging in the bones

Beykoyun

Moving closer to the group as they explore the hallway, he moves past Brooku to the doorway in the southern wall. "Brooku, if you are going to hide in the back, watch our backs while I listen at this door." Once to the door, he will listen for sounds on the other side.

Beykoyun listens for sounds, but hears nothing, as the other adventurers investigate the bones. They appear to human, brittle with age, and obviously the subject of great violence; the skull is crushed, and rips cracked and shattered. Only a few scraps of crumbling fabric can be found, as well as a crude stone knife. There does not appear to be anything else of value.

Brooku

I think the investigating behind the door which Mutton is investigating is our best way forward.

Disappointed at the lack of interesting finds on the dead body, he turns to Brooku

"Yes, I agree, best not to leave uninvestigated areas behind us."

Themon nods in agreement.

Doors are meant to be opened.
