Re: Project discussion
Spears do not kill people, blood crazed adventures kill people.
and
I fully support the idea of having more then ten arrows in each quiver.
Ahem...ok
I was thinking we could also have a list of "sometimes around folks" these could be merchants, rangers, a thief, and so on that one could use for color and to be guests in the tarvern and so on. I was thinking 1 "classed" NPC for each 3 NPC (the rest are zero level folks just passing by.

Re: Project discussion
No necromancers? Surely we need a town necromancer!

Re: Project discussion
I just posted another. It needs a little work but the basics are there. The rumors are pretty boring, though, but otherwise I like it.
Thanks for the submission, Stonjuz. Looking forward to it being fleshed out.

Re: Project discussion
I added some rumors. Any suggestions (besides necromancers) for our funeral parlor? Dont think that I wont welcome any.
Re: Project discussion
I cant think of a better scenario than a group of kids storytelling about danger and ghosts and traps, in a funeral parlor. No telling what pops up.Stonjuz wrote:I added some rumors. Any suggestions (besides necromancers) for our funeral parlor? Dont think that I wont welcome any.
And also the cleric who refuses the party's request for RAISE DEAD.
Re: Project discussion
So over at the Knights and Knaves Alehouse, home of OSRIC , they've come up with an idea of building a magazine. Now that Fight On! and some of the others are gone, they are looking to do something real old school in spirit and feel.
As Stuart Marshall put it:
Subject: Knights & Knaves Alehouse Magazine
The guy putting it together thought something from the PbP perspective might not be a bad idea either. I'd love to see us put together an article, or a running article, detailing "Old School Gaming the Play by Post Way! by the Unseen Servant team". But that's a topic for a different post which I'll put in General.
If we have some enthusiasm and willingness to do something like this, I'll merge the posts from whatever threads together, but as of right now I'm just gauging interest in doing something like this as a community. I think it'd be fun and interesting at the least.
Be well all, and let me know what you think!

I feel like our town (with the caveat that we can also publish it if we want in the future as a whole product) would fit the bill. Always enjoyed the Judges Guild Magazines (Pegasus, etc) that they showed little bits of their world off one issue at a time. Now we're just doing a town, but who knows where it will lead.PapersAndPaychecks wrote:Art's always the biggest problem with ideas like this! I've already asked our artists for help with Dangerous Dungeons (and received some very generous donations).
I'm perfectly happy for K&KA to host a free magazine. It would need to support the site's objectives as set by Jerry Mapes: Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons, Traveller, Call of Cthulhu, Boot Hill, BRP-based systems (including Runequest), the K&KA-specific retro-clones (being OSRIC and Swords & Wizardry), and certain miniatures-based or hex-and-chit wargames----a scenario for ASL or Panzerblitz per issue would honour Jerry nicely?

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Re: Project discussion
Sounds great! Thanks for taking the ball on this project. Keep us posted.

Re: Project discussion
Any interest in locations (inn's taverns, shops) that we may have published somewhere else in the past?
Re: Project discussion
You're stuff?
Absolutely. And I believe DF doesn't care about republishing stuff done for them.

I guess the one caveat would be as long as it fits in with ToniXX's concept for the project, which is currently a smaller town. Obviously that can change, but I believe it was our goal starting out.

Re: Project discussion
how can Imake a table in a post? I don't think html works on a board.
Re: Project discussion
I think it has something to do with the
Code: Select all
tag.
At least tab spacing stays where you want them with that tag.
But don't take this social workers word for it! ;)

Re: Project discussion
Don't worry about formatting for the forum. If/when we submit this for publishing, all tables will be formatted as necessary.wolfpack wrote:how can Imake a table in a post? I don't think html works on a board.
THanks for the submission, btw. Good stuff for sure
