The creature seems incensed by Valorei's words, its yellow eyes rolling around in its head. It makes a mighty leap forward out of the water with surprising agility and swings at him with the club. Valorei sees the attack coming just before the creature lands with a horrifyingly heavy splash in the water in front of him and ducks out of the way of the swing, nearly overpowered by the monster's stench.

That didn't seem in-character--that would make it Ogre Mage's MO, not Wendall's. This group has talked a lot about trust and done very little to encourage it.

If you think any of that is serious, perhaps you should have joined up with Jem instead?

If Halfred would start ripping on Wendall like Niles does, he could get some too if he is feeling left out. Besides, if this is an actual troll, we will all be dead in a few rounds anyway.
