He enters and sees a group discussing the latest events. "I'm looking for Judge Bunt. Dr. Volokh said i may be able to hitch a ride with you out of town."

Taavi remembers Báleygr from the debacle in the saloon. How could anyone forget anyone else who was there at the time? He recalls that Báleygr stayed conspicuously inactive throughout the action.
Hello. As you probably know from my self-introduction at the saloon, I'm Taavi Perttu, circuit counsel for the state. Judge Bunt is indisposed at present. We will be taking our truck back to Kumekhna City at some point. But we have business here to take care of first. Specifically, children are going missing, and we need found out why and eliminate the cause. If you'd care to help, we can see that the state provides compensation or other accommodation. And transportation out of this... inhospitable town, of course.

Taavi replies, To be honest, we don't know exactly what skills we need. It's an investigation, so probably the most important thing is having an open and inquisitive mind. But given the amount of violence so far, skill with firearms is probably essential. Do you have a weapon? If not, the sheriff might be able to provide one. Or I can lend you a 9mm pistol.

Alright then, understood, Taavi says. We hope it won't come to that. All skills could be useful. If you agree to be deputized as a temporary marshal, consider it done.
