Now Harold! That is no way to talk to...........The Wendall.

Wendall nods his head over and over and sneers as if he's gloating about just coming up with his own new nickname.

Thank You Mother Carkiss! The Wendall promises he will come back and see you again someday soon.

Thats the nice thing about a permanent head injury, every day you can be someone else.

You guys keep saying that he now has an injury with a "story" attached to it so I'm just trying to make this encounter "one to remember".

Varas runs his hands over the man-high stones, staring at Wendall.

Dorvar will bleed himself a bit, if that is what it takes to move away from the tree. He will then join Varas at the boulders.

I am fine with getting some more exploration in if everyone else is.

Getting run over by a dinosaur isn't memorable enough? It is pretty memorable for those of us who were still conscious, anyway. :D

Maybe we can compromise and explore a little bit while we make our way back? I wouldn't mind checking on our tower on the way either. Perhaps we will discover something new as our approach should be from a slightly different route this time?

Sounds good to me.

Btw, where are we? I should really update the master map with the location of the tree.

"Wendall, you speak of compromise? You're actually learning people skills!" exclaims Varas, still staring at the young spellcaster.

"However, I fear the blow from the thunder lizard scrambled your brains. There are lizard man patrols searching for us. We'll be marching back into the thick of them if we head back to the tower. Perhaps we should explore new territory on the way back to Vaul and return to the towers with a more numerous party."

I'm not referring to the tower that was all smashed and full of lizardmen that we just came from. Wasn't there another tower that we will go right past on the way back to town? Or, maybe I imagined all the dead goblins and wolf prints? This brain damage is tricky business.

Yes please! I have been trying to follow along with a map also but am completely lost with it at the moment.

Thanks for keeping track of that Zhym!

I thought we were in the southwest part of the hex with the second tower - which is west of the hex with the first tower...

Is the second tower in the hex that's 2 hexes to the NW of Vaul?
Or did we travel farther than that?
We would know about how far we've traveled right?

You traveled west from the hex with the first tower to reach the second. I'm only clarifying because I made an error and gave you the wrong direction early on. I try to be clear when you change hexes so eventually I will stop providing positional confirmation and allow you all to guide yourselves by your maps and discovered landmarks--your maps have been pretty accurate and you're getting landmarks to flesh things out!

So something like this?

1 - Goblin tree
2 - Ruins
3 - First tower
4 - Second tower
5 - Smothering tree
I haven't figured out an easy way yet to update the terrain in each hex.

Varas grows bored with stroking the boulders. "I propose we explore the area south of here then head east to Vaul. What say ye?"

Lead the way! We can go back to the first tower anytime I guess.

Those ears are really starting to stink you know! Perhaps we should try and find an airtight vessel for next trip when we get back to Vaul eh? I'm surprised we don't have a parade of monsters following us around out here.
