Odo fires another arrow at the immobilized bugbear.

Short bow +1 (THAC0 19): [1d20+5] = 17+5 = 22 [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

Ogre, Ogre round 4

Initiative players [1d6] = 3, baddies [1d6] = 4

The last ogre snaps the web that holds him and makes his way to the room!

Bror cannot retrieve his weapons at this time, they are webbed and he'd be stuck.
Thurwin shows why he is a wizard, not a ranger. Odo's arrow scores, Calthas longbow blessed [1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17, dmg [1d8+1] = 7+1 = 8 as does Calthas!
Tavin's star catches the ogre between the eyes and he goes down! The last ogre is dead.

Sean nudges Pete who lights the web on fire. After a blast of heat, the web quickly burns down and mere wisps remain.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin pats Calmert on the back, thanking him for his timely healing. "Ah, St. Cuthbert shines upon us again! Let's search these brutes quickly in case our fight brings other guests."

OOC: Thurwin will assist in searching the smelly dead ogres.

Bror takes this time to gather his weapons wiping any gore off them onto the dead ogre's clothing what little they are wearing that is. "Good bit o' work there lads." he congratulates the group.

Tavin - Monk

Good team work indeed, that could have been... worse. Tavin will retrieve as many of his stars as possible and then take part in searching the ogres.

One wonders, how many are looking for us...

Calmert: Cleric

Calmert smiles at Thurwin, "Well, tall one, I'm not supposed to be telling you this, but - for a heathen - St. Cuthbert is rather fond of you... and hopes you come to the light before you perish!! ...is the message I'm to deliver." he says with a wink.

The little Gnome then turns to his companions, "Friends, St. Cuthbert wants to bring all of you to the breadth of life, but his servant is too weak at this time. Alas, I must rest before we continue."

"This is more like it!" thinks Calthas after hitting the target twice in a row. He then goes about collecting his arrows, disregarding the potential loot the giant brutes could yield. Hearing Calmert, he says: "Resting is OK. If the denizens of these parts will let us. Maybe we should at least move out of the temple first?"

"Wasn't resting what we were trying to do when those rude ogres interrupted us?" asks Odo. He checks his spent arrows to see if any of them are still usable.

"By the way, chaps, something very interesting happened when I tried that potion. I felt like I could see through a mouse's eyes. That is not an inappropriate effect for a clairvoyance potion, I'd say. So maybe not all the potions are poison? Or perhaps they just have weird effects?"

Thurwin nods in agreement, "Yes, I agree, the tower is like a second home for us lately. It's far more defensible. We could go there for a day or so and get back on our feet."

Yes, the tower sounds comfortable at this point.

Interesting about the potions... I may try a sip of one once we are beyond this place.

Calthas narrows his eyes. "Maybe we will have to fight our way into the tower again. But in this case, we will have at least a way to escape. And I would prefer any day to be surrounded by trees rather than stone walls!"

The eyes of the elf are glinting when he talks about trees.

Calmert searches the ogres. They have stone-set clubs and wear dingy ogre-sized clothing, much made of un-tanned hides that is starting to rot. They have no coin. One has five sharp-edged sea shells covered with blood and what looks like scraped-off human flesh, another one Trident-head, third tine is broken-off halfway, and a third has four small animal traps on a single rusty chain. The third one doesn't work quite right. The last ogre doesn't have any loot at all.

The party leaves the underground environs, meeting nothing on the way. They emerge from the temple. The night sky is cloudless and the temperature is low - you can see your breath. The moon has set, it seems, and all seems deathly quiet. A stiff breeze chills the bones and makes the torches flicker.

You approach the tower, carefully as you recall your last visit and the unwelcome guests. All seems quiet within...

You've also all gained 7XP for the battles with the bugbears and ogres. Excellent work.
