No, Doubtful, you have the lantern. I'll go first and you can follow to provide light in case there is anything else undead to deal with.
Umrick opens the door and advances, sword at the ready.

The Final Room
Round 1
The brave gnome pushes open the door and leads the way into the secret room. The lantern lights up what can only be an old, dusty laboratory. There is a long table against one wall with a large desk and chair at the opposite end of the room. The table is filled with dusty jars of powders, vials of viscus liquid, and a plethora of strangely shaped stained glassware.
In the desk chair sits a human figure with its back to you, apparently studying a large book that sits open on the desk before him. The figure is garbed in black robes that are covered with mystic symbols. On the desk next to the book are several items, one of them being an unlit candlestick. Even in the dim light of the distant lantern, you discern the obvious glint of pure gold from them.
Actions!
Edit: forgot the map

Doubtful pantomimes throwing a small pebble in the room to get the figure's attention while still staying in the doorway for a quick retreat. He looks around for consensus. The druid also scans the room for any other exits.

Umrick will approach the seated figure, pretty sure it isn't going to come to life (or undeath), but ready with his sword just in case. If the figure moves, he attacks.

The druid quietly drops the pebble he had in hand and waits for the bloodshed to begin.

Re: 5) Back to the House III: Third time's the charm?
Umrick ignores the druids pebbling pantomime and walks right up to the figure in the chair. Jervis stays close behind with his sword at the ready. It seems that the gnome is correct in that the figure is quite harmless. It looks to have been an old man that must have died right where he still sits. Other than the mystic robes and a pointy hat laid across his lap, the deceased human appears to have nothing else on his person.
The cluttered desk is another matter entirely as the group soon learns. With a little closer look now, it seems that besides the large tome, the desk top contains multiple items that have been fashioned from pure gold. There is the candlestick, an apple, a set of tiny gold puck shaped disks of multiple weights, and finally, a human sized skull that appears to be made of solid gold.

The druid mistrusts the finds and feels confined in this dark, dusty tomb of a laboratory. He watches while the others investigate, lantern still held high to assist the search. Oh, what I wouldn't give for a fresh breeze on my face right now.

Ben creeps in and... "Is all that really gold?... how much is all that possibly worth?..."
Re: 5) Back to the House III: Third time's the charm?
Keilif makes his way into the musty room, eyeing the dark corners for potential threats. When he spies the golden objects, he warns: "Take caution about touching those. They may be cursed. "

Jonas should wear the robes and hat. He'd look like a right proper wizard then, wouldn't he? laughs the gnome. As he is just about to pick up the gold skull, Umrick hears Keilif's warning about a possible curse and pulls his hand quickly back. Uh, can anybody test for curses? I don't mind tangling with a skeleton, or a gnoll, or even one of those crab things. I can see what I'm fighting, and understand how it will act and react. But I don't know much about curses, other than that I'm not cursed right now, and don't want anything to change that.

I suppose touching it would be a good first step in testing for curses, Doubtful offers sourly.
Re: 5) Back to the House III: Third time's the charm?
Jonas watches as the boys head back down the road. He takes one last look at the Azure Sea, before heading back into the decrepit house. Jonas walks down to where the other party members are, hopefully everyone is ok.
Re: 5) Back to the House III: Third time's the charm?
Mai enters, looking around at the room. She closely examines the various golden objects on the desk. Do any of you have skills in jewelry making, blacksmithing, or other precise work?
Can Mai see any relationships among the objects, beyond being made of gold? That is- do the discs look like they might stack together? Are they slotted, so they would slide onto the stem of the candlestick? Does the apple have any markings or depressions on its surface? Anything else?
I vaguely remember a fable concerning an apple made of gold. I would not touch it. But I doubt that this elder kept cursed items loose on his desk, where he might accidentally touch them himself.

Re: 5) Back to the House III: Third time's the charm?
The group tentatively studies the golden items on the desk as the dead man watches them all silently from his chair. There is nothing unusual about any of the items. They look totally normal other than being made of solid gold. The disks look like they might have been used as scale weights at one point, though there is no scale present at the moment.
Suddenly, a noise is heard from behind. There is something coming down the steps and entering the barracks!
After a moment of tension, Jonas, clearly bored with his watch post duties, pops his head into the room to see what is going on.

Doubtful asks the new arrival, any news?
