well, we did almost have a TLK (Total Lantern Kill). I think Loamar boasts of owning one in his inventory still...

I volunteer Cirdan and his cat to scout ahead of the lantern and/or magical sword light.

Oiran is happy staying in the middle or in the front.

Sounds like we could get a larger piece or two of rubble from the poison room and toss on the "trap" floor?

Capital idea! We could toss these items from a distance onto the unique floor tiles.

Does Oiran still have is lantern or did he loose it when the wall came down? Because if he has it I would like to light it again.

He may still have it, but they were both smashed.

No sadly your lantern was on the floor at your feet when you pulled the stone out. It had a quick and painless death when the wall landed on it. :)

A running broad jump for human, elf, and half orc is 1d4+5 ft.
move 9' or Heavy encumbrance = -1 ft
move 6' or very heavy encumbrance = -2 ft
move 3' or encumbered= -3 ft

So Sterling would be 1d4+3 ft. You must have a result greater than 5' to clear the pressure plates.

As someone who only recently began GMing AD&D1e/OSRIC I must ask, in what AD&D book can those jumping rules be found?

The much maligned Dungeoneers Survival Guide. They are supposedly based off of the Thief Acrobat rules EGG wrote in Unearthed Arcana.

I must admit I don't completely agree with them and thought the chart should be using strength rather than level to determine distance, but I'm sticking with the book for now until I have time to give a house rule some serious thought. :)

Rredmond's game Slave Pits of the Under City has inspired me. I'm going to start posting the in-game day and time in my posts to give you a better idea of how much time is passing.

ok, then...

I assume that the floor is ok now, since the spring mechanism is still engaged? Or does it look like there are several rows of these logs independent of each other, and only the furtherest was sprung?

Every other row of logs (up to 10' high) along that 10' section rotated. Looking at the channels it's fairly obvious that the other half of the logs do not move. So, to the best of your ability you can assume the floor will not trigger more logs in the wall to swing out.

When you pushed on the logs they gave and sprung back like a lever with a heavy weight attached to the other end. With enough force it seems possible to swing the logs back toward their closed position. At least wide enough for a person to fit through.
