No sadly your lantern was on the floor at your feet when you pulled the stone out. It had a quick and painless death when the wall landed on it.

A running broad jump for human, elf, and half orc is 1d4+5 ft.
move 9' or Heavy encumbrance = -1 ft
move 6' or very heavy encumbrance = -2 ft
move 3' or encumbered= -3 ft

So Sterling would be 1d4+3 ft. You must have a result greater than 5' to clear the pressure plates.

The much maligned Dungeoneers Survival Guide. They are supposedly based off of the Thief Acrobat rules EGG wrote in Unearthed Arcana.

I must admit I don't completely agree with them and thought the chart should be using strength rather than level to determine distance, but I'm sticking with the book for now until I have time to give a house rule some serious thought.

Every other row of logs (up to 10' high) along that 10' section rotated. Looking at the channels it's fairly obvious that the other half of the logs do not move. So, to the best of your ability you can assume the floor will not trigger more logs in the wall to swing out.

When you pushed on the logs they gave and sprung back like a lever with a heavy weight attached to the other end. With enough force it seems possible to swing the logs back toward their closed position. At least wide enough for a person to fit through.
