I know he was a torch carrier only after we rescued him. However, has he healed enough to do anything more? ie fight?

As the party enters the Priory, nothing jumps out to attack, and Felgorian and husker see the same thing, a pair of boot prints in the dust, heading to the north, then back to the center, to the base of the alter (you would need to approach the alter to see where they go from there.) As you look, you see the north where they went has Some benches and 6 graves (buried into the floor) and two shrines. The East, South, and West also appear to have two shrines. The south appears to be rows of benches, the East and West also have benches, and something else in the Corners that the light does not reach.

As for the Baour,
Yes, he can fight, and he a zero level human with leather and a short sword. If he survives 2 more adventures, he will be "Upgraded" to a 1st level fighter for the party.)

Brother Meldred will slowly approach the graves and say a little prayer to the fallen in the graves. He will also check to see if there is any evidence of the graves being distrurb in anyway and if they have been distrurb if it looks recent.

The Graves are undisturbed. Each of them has a stone cover with the inscriptions, and the stones are in place, with no sign of attempts to break in or otherwise get to the grave-sites.

Whether true or not, "This place wreaks of evil," Ceric mutters quietly to no one in particular as the group slowly enters the crypt-filled room. He stands at the ready, sword and shield in hand. He cautiously approaches the nearest crypt along with Brother Meldred and examines the inscriptions in the stone cover, wondering if it’s anything he’s able to comprehend.

“Let us work our way to the altar with caution.” he says.

The script is a older, "fancy" version of common.

The six inscriptions are as follows

Kesmon De Vris - Assoc Prior "May I sleep in Peace"

Phexides Drexel - Assoc Prior "Choked on a elderberry"

Riandur of Boal - Assoc Prior "walked to the dark corners of the world"

Espardo Fritzvega - Assoc Prior "I was born, I lived, then I died"

Airis Yingling - Assoc Prior "To the end, was angry with Analuska"

Modric Velcher - Assoc Prior "Died to keep a secret"

Dates of Birth and death are not on the inscription.

After looking over the graves, Brother Meldred will get up and say, Well, shall we move on? Or keep checking the room?

I'm ok with the marching order

"I suspect there is still much to do, your holiness." Ceric states, motioning to the footprints leading to the altar. "Let us all remain alert."

Having performed a cursory inspection of the graves and read the inscriptions upon their stones, Ceric will turn his attention to the altar.

Felgorian will likewise check the room, looking more at the floor and lower sections of walls, etc. He will also peer into the darkened corners, to see if anything is there.

Beya; after looking over the inscriptions can't help but to shake her head and say with wan humor; "Well....even if I DO happen to choke on an Elderberry; would all of you PLEASE promise me that you'll write something much nicer on my final marker? Something more like....I don't know...'Beya was a nice lady, a good Mage and a helluva knife thrower'; deal?"; she asks with grim humor.

The thief quickly checks the stairs, and says he doesn't see any traps, and the alter is a simple stone block of white stone. There is a molded alter covering half rotted and moth eaten on the floor. Let me know how you inspect it.

Well also let me know how you check the alter as well, but yes, not checking molds is generally a good idea :)

Brother Meldred looks over by the altar, Molds? That stuff on bread? What would it be doing here? My experience in the field is fairly limited. Would there be anything of value underneath it we should look for?

As a note, the Mold is on the cover to the side, not on the actual alter, which is of stone.

The thief notes that the footprints go to the alter, then ...disappear...

Fegorian will investigate that area as well, looking for traps in the floor.

Careful inspections show two small stone buttons, about one foot from each other, on the north side of the alter. they are hidden in the stone carvings on the alter.

Ceric, who's already at the altar, looks at the newly discovered buttons. He looks to the dwarf. "You want to press them, or should I?" he asks.

Felgorian thinks a bit on that one..."Well, see these footprints. They disappear. This is either a trap door, or a hidden staircase. I suppose we could tie a rope or have some sort of pole t hold on to while pushing it, to keep from falling into a bottomless pit of zombie crocodiles and poisoned spikes.
