The red tile path contains letters that spell out the following...tkrexx wrote:Mm the Dwarf mutters to himself. Stones inna floor. I better check these. Zat a door onna wall, wid the dog-men, or jus' paint?
ACERERAK CONGRATULATES YOU ON YOUR POWERS OF OBSERVATION. SO MAKE OF THIS WHATEVER YOU WISH, FOR YOU WILL BE MINE IN THE END NO MATTER WHAT!
This text ends just past the spot where Tix and Bindle are standing. There is more...
GO BACK TO THE...
The rest can not be seen in the darkened hallway ahead. If you continue to follow the path you will need a light source.
ooc: The cyan lines on the west wall show the location of the painted door.

Mm, Ironbeard repeats. He pulls out a torch and his flint box and begins scratching. Once the torch is lit he'll take a closer look at the message. Some for'n writ, don' knoz it. One a ya for'ners needn read.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Tix will carefully break off the needle so that no one else might accidentally suffer the same fate as our friend. He then will check to see how sturdy the box is? Will it hold his weight? (just to be clear you say the chest opens from the bottom and that the top is just a fake lid?) If the box can hold his weight he will climb on top of it and check closely the eye that is between the 2 jackals. Seeing no more traps and seeing how one has already been set off he will then call out his findings to the rest of the group.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Skarlos drops to one knee and offers a prayer of thanks for his safe arrival. He then drops off his non-essential kit and walks up to the top of the hill. He will survey the area and then seek out someone to introduce himself to.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
So Erodhon opened this wall box and got pricked by a needle? Did he retrieve anything out of the box before he died? McCloud is making a good search of this body, perhaps he is still grasping something in his hands? He is checking for things like a key?

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
The box is very sturdy. Yes the bottom hangs open. You are able to climb up and have a closer look at the eye, but you find nothing unusual about it.sparkles wrote:Tix will carefully break off the needle so that no one else might accidentally suffer the same fate as our friend. You find nothing but the elf's own belongings.Stirling wrote:So Erodhon opened this wall box and got pricked by a needle? Did he retrieve anything out of the box before he died? Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
There are no more letters for a few feet, then you can see them resume just past the painted door. The words "Go back to the tormentor or through the..." can be seen. There are more words farther down the path.tkrexx wrote:Mm, Ironbeard repeats. He pulls out a torch and his flint box and begins scratching. Skarlos approaches the group
"Hail and well met fellows, I too am on this great and noble quest. What is the story so far?"

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
AAA! The Dwarf starts. Uu d'wednock is ya?? Once it's clear the newcomer poses no danger, Urdak will cease waving his pick menacingly and, since he can't read the message anyway, admire the workmanship of the stones while trying to find one that might move.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Bindle uses his Jo Stick to nudge the dwarf further about 10 feet ahead of him while he starts to read the script aloud to everyone.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Urdak's torch flares to life revealing more of the hallway.
Bindle reads the text out loud...
"ACERERAK CONGRATULATES YOU ON YOUR POWERS OF OBSERVATION. SO MAKE OF THIS WHATEVER YOU WISH, FOR YOU WILL BE MINE IN THE END NO MATTER WHAT!
Go back to the tormentor or through the..."
There are more letters hidden in the red tiles of the path further south.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
The Dwarf will pause to get an eyeful of the corrior ahead, looking for other moveable parts that create havok among the living. The hair on his mustache seem to be standing upright as he looks to the door. Som'n see trappins? Gotta gut heern.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Skiiratch grabs the scroll off the dead body and steps forward into the opening.
He tucks the scroll away into the confines of his robes and pulls out his Mage Lite. Activating the magical light source by removing the cap, he shines it on the painting of the door so that he can examine it more fully.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Your light cast some tell tale shadows that indicate a change in the wall surface. The section of wall where the door is painted appears to be slightly depressed. It's hard to see much detail from the entrance and with Tix, Bindle, and Urdak in the way.Alethan wrote:Skiiratch grabs the scroll off the dead body and steps forward into the opening.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Urdak is about to step forward but a seem in the floor catches his keen dwarven eye. The seem looks too wide compared to the others around it. It looks like a 10 x 10 foot section of floor directly in front of the door painting moves.tkrexx wrote:The Dwarf will pause to get an eyeful of the corrior ahead, looking for other moveable parts that create havok among the living. Never mind. Replace scroll with boots, per the other thread.Alethan wrote:Skiiratch grabs the scroll off the dead body and steps forward into the opening.
