Day 1 – 2:00 p

.

Odo starts inspecting the mouth of the stone face as Varkos looks on.
Ilhalevar says wrote:"Sorry, Wulfgar, but I no longer trust you. Too bad, really... It doesn't bode we'll for our venture."

She then hurries to catch up with the others.
Son of Thunder also moves through the mushrooms, both end up getting the tacky glowing yellow substance on their boots.

Al’Zur heads across, not waiting for the cleric, but covers his feet by sacrificing his cloak. Which seems to work.

Rake wrote:starts banging his feet on the ground to see if the glowing spores are shaken off.
It helps alleviate the glow, as some of the tacky substance gloppily drips off, but a layer of glowing yellow remains on Rake's boots.

While everyone is coming back together, Odo takes a grappling hook and rope and tosses it through the mouth, and is able to slowly pull it back through.

PM sent.

Odo looks at his campanions, and gulps.

"Its clear...at least as far as I can tell, and I have to earn my keep, since I can't can't hit the side of a big folks barn..."

Odo after wiping off the excess glow, walks forward into the mouth.

Ilhalevar first tries a little water, then a little wine, if the water doesn't work, to see if she can wash the glowing spores off of her boots before continuing.

Zafalia holds her torch high and makes ready to enter the mouth behind Odo.

OOC: Ron, do we still see Malak's glowing footprints here? I'm assuming that he went through the mouth for lack of another passage?

hmmm. Now that you think of it, you didn't see any glowing footprints. Somehow Malak avoided leaving any.

Wulfgard stays close behind the ranger holding his lamp. Close to the point of annoyance, still obviously shaken and out of sorts.

Day 1 – 2:05 p

.

Everyone but Al’Zur has issues with glowing feet. Various methods of water, wine, using the edge of a cloak, and banging one's feet helps a bit. But none of it seems to get the stuff off completely. No one is now making footprints, but everyone (except Al'Zur) has lightly glowing feet. Unfortunately the stuff only illuminates your feet, and doesn't otherwise have any sort of illumination radiance, and it's almost invisible in the light of Wulfgard's lamp.

Apparently unflappable, Odo disappears through the mouth of the stone face, which takes a bit of doing for him, as the mouth is about 3' from the ground (big chin). Zafalia holds up her torch, causing the floating head to rise a bit behind her and heads through the mouth, head following Odo, as he looks back at the party from a small passage on the other side of the mouth.

I can find no evidence our friend Malak was even here. the Ranger mutters, almost to himself. No one has used this SW passage beyond the "mouth" for some time. He adds, staring down said tunnel.

"How many do you guess my friend?" Varkos whispers before the thief disappears.
He draws slightly back up the passage (we came from), preparing to ambush whoever or whatever is coming.

Zafalia moves back out and away from the mouth entrance to allow more shadows for the others to hide in. "Make sure it is not Malak before you strike," she whispers as she heads back around the corner with the torch, hoping that whatever is coming will see the light source and pass by the others.

As soon as she hears movement or action from the others, she'll move back around the bend in support.

Son of Thunder will silently nock an arrow, moving to a place where his back is near a wall, facing the approaching footsteps.

Ilhalevar moves against a wall, clutching her staff with both hands and lowering herself a little so that her robes cover the glowing fungus goo on her feet.

Day 1 – 2:08 p

Having had fair warning, everyone moves from the stone face and prepares for what may come out of the mouth. Within minutes, shuffling quicker than you remember, you see the head of one of the scarecrow creatures poking out of the mouth. By the sounds of it there are others behind it.

Hmm, well this could be unfortunate... for those scarecrow creatures.

Odo waits for action or the last one before going for a backstab.
