Chapter 7: I7 - Baltron's Beacon

Weston
On hearing Egon's cry, the priest looks around from the back of the wagon to see what's happening and look for targets for a Hold Person spell.
Would Weston know if these creatures would be affected by hold person?

Grimnar pays them no attention still trying to free the man from the inside of the overturned coach.

Kravoud
Successfully fending off the power of the spriggin's spell, Kravoud continues working with Grimnar to free the being from the overturned wagon.
Should we do a strength check to see if we can flip the wagon off the stranger?

roll strength if you want to try and roll the wagon over. Mind you the trapped feller is inside the wagon not under in, this is like an old coach style wagon. It occurs to you it might be easier to just strike the door with an axe or blunt weapon.
Wagon minus the window openings it just has the door one on each side curtain is closed on the top stuck door.

He suspects that it might work on them. They are humanoid even if they are strange looking.

The priest attempts to place his Hold Person spell to catch as many of the creatures as he can, with a preference for any obvious spellcasters

Re: Chapter 7: I7 - Baltron's Beacon
Tipped Wagon at the "crash site" Grimnar hacks away and manages to get through the door the being inside hears the hacking and moves out of the way so as not in a place where they might accidentally get axed. Once the door is busted through you can see inside is a comfy cozy interior with a small chest still locked on it's side where it landed in the wreck. Then looking around you notice a couple packs with belongings and another well whatever they call themselves only this one is female. She is pleased to be freed from the wagon. "Thanks. Help me climb out. Won't you?" semi-broken common language they speak in. She reaches a hand up for assistance climbing out. The male figure outside looks relieved but also ashamed perhaps.

The hold spell appears to have taken hold on 5 of the 6 strange looking gnome like creatures. The one that remains able to move does something strange after taking the hit from Kravoud, and almost getting hit by Egon. The creature begins to grow,to a ridiculous size the little bugger is now 12' tall sticking out of the hole like a giant. He looks down at the adventurers and looks angry but yet smiles in a most sinister looking way. His items also appear to have grown with him. He takes a swing down with his now giant proportioned spear. He strikes down at the two dwarves. At this size and proximity I decided the creature can likely hit both Egon & Kravoud
Giant Gnome Thing THAC0 17 [1d20+3]=12+3=15 to hit [2d4+7]=4+7=11 dmg by some strange miracle Egon is the only one to get hit by the giant spear.

Re: Chapter 7: I7 - Baltron's Beacon
When the gnome grows to a giant do Kravoud and Egon receive their AC bonus vs. Giant sized creatures?
Kravoud
While somewhat surprised by the sudden expansion of his opponent, he regroups in time to shield himself from the oversized spear thrust and then so how missed the "Giant" gnomes knees with his mace.
Mace [1d20+1]=1+1=2 damage [1d6+1]=5+1=6
I rolled a natural 1 is there any penalty for that?

Re: Chapter 7: I7 - Baltron's Beacon
Egon
Yes there is, I think you need to roll a 1d100 for fumbles.
Egon attacks the now giant evil gnome thing.
Battle Axe +1 [1d20+2]=1+2=3 to hit [1d8+4]=2+4=6 damage
Natural 1.
Fumble [1d100]=67
Egon is -4 to be hit by giants of all types, including Ogres and trolls.

Delsenora will fire arrows from her bow at the giant thing, aiming high.

Seeing the effects of the hold spell, he states "Quickly, we need to secure those that are held."
His eyes widen at the sight of the creature growing to giant proportions, then he gets an idea. He casts a brief spell at the creature, reversing two key somatic elements to invert the magic's intent.
He casts Reduce on the creature

Re: Chapter 7: I7 - Baltron's Beacon
Thanks for reminding the DM yes you get the bonus as they are giant sized. That is correct Rex 1d100 for Critical hits and Fumbles.

Seeing the creature grow out of the hole, Reywald slings a bullet at it.
====
Sling bullet, Thac0 19
Reywald sling vs large spriggan [1d20]=10, [1d6+1]=4+1=5
probably a miss, only hits AC 9
