"Uh...yeah. Thanks." Elvis looks for an opportunity to ditch the useless toy without offending the eccentric "wizard."

A feint explosion can be heard over head. Looking up reveals the comet has finally broken it's orbit and is beginning it's decent to the north.

Off to the north we go, then.

Zengar stops and stares at the comet, unable to articulate the feeling of relief, joy but a strange wariness. Finally, he begins to walk and slowly forms the words uncertainly: "I feel...strangely...worried for her. Standing around won't...help much...let's move." He follows Elvis north, trying to shake off the feeling that darkness may be closer than he thinks.

Continuing in a northerly direction leads you past more rides, buildings, and a couple corpses. Nothing unusual sparks interest except that the vegutation seems to get more dense the fsrther north you go.
Another explosion from the sky reveals the comet is no longer burning in the atmosphere but is now a decending shiny streak of smoking metal.

Near the climax of this quest, Zengar follows the last shard of the comet quickly, breaking into a run northward.

The "comet " seems to fall out of control from the sky, spinning end over over end. A feint burst is heard as fire and smoke bellows from the object, seemingly stabilizing the fall. It floats in a wide southerly arc before correcting it's course yet again north.
A woosh of hot air can be felt as it roars over head and then silence as any remaining propulsion seems to fail plummeting the ball of metal and steam over treetops and skeletons of amusement park rides.
The sound of splintering steel, ruptured concrete, and snapping trees is deafening as it makes impact.

Moving quickly, the duo clears a few turns, buildings, and rides to see this before them:

As you get closer to the wreckage, you can see a massive ship half sticking out of a roller coaster. Flames vent from one area, while smoke and steam pour from others. There are some form of man sized capsules scattered about the wreck site as well on the ground.
Even as you watch a mass of green vegetation seems to climb over the coaster and entwine around the protruding ship. One of the capsules on the ground open and some form of green skinned humanoid wearily staggers out. The vegetation seems to react to this as it surrounds him and you can hear his screams from this distance.
Another capsule, and then another open with the same result.

Is this deafening SILENCE due to my lousy Photoshop ability?

(Sorry for the lack of response, I have been busy lately)

Zengar immediately attempts to cut a swathe through the vegetation using Ragnez and rescue some of the green humanoids.

Roll To-Hit: [1d20] = 19

Long sword damage: [1d8+1] = 4+1 = 5

As you close distance and the green humanoids you notice that the vegetation seems sentient, very mobile, and now aware of your intrusion. Hundreds of fist sized mouths, like Venus Fly Traps cover the ivy. While not ripping flesh from the green humanoids, they do appear to be latching on to it's flesh wherever exposed. A large mass of start to slither your way with hungry jaws biting at the air. It's obvious you would soon be buried in vines if you proceed.
Even as you come to this realization, the vines appear to have reached their maximum length 15 ' from you. The vines pull tight as the snapping mouths reach for you in vain.
The screams of the green humanoids has ceased.

Zengar takes a step back and calls out, to see if there is anyone at all alive. If not, he will ask Elvis: "Shall I call upon the power bound unto me by the Mother of Flame and Heat, The Mother of Light?"

Can Elvis hack at the vines with his sword at the edge of their range without coming into attack range?

The vines coming at you appear to be straining to reach you yet unable at this time. So yes, however, judging the mass of vine coming from roller coaster, wrapping parts if ship, and covering ground to you, it would be like farming a wheat field with a sword.
Some vines appear to be trying to get into various holes in the ship.

"Well, I'm flummoxed," admits Elvis. "Zengar, do you have any magic that would let us past these ravenous vines into the ship?

"Yes," Zengar lets a ball of flame form in his open hand, eyes similarly alight with interest, "yes I do." He hurls the fireball at a point of the vegetation that seems like the root.

No discernible "root " can be seen, however the mass of vines is so large that missing is unlikely.

only a roll of 01 will miss on d20. Roll d20 to hit and 4d6 damage.
