Re: A Favor for Captain Loris
After speaking with Motely, you return to the tavern and request lodging for the night. The barmaid tells you there are only a couple of rooms but you are welcome to the as no one else has been staying there and since you are assisting the village with this problem, its the best they can provide.
Very early the next morning, there is a knock at your doors as the barmaid wakes you for breakfast. When you enter the common room the barmaid is there with plates of eggs and sausage for you along with mugs of ale. "Sorry for the early wake up, but if you are going out with Motely, he likes to rise and get started before the sun." True to her word, Motely enters the tavern shortly after you begin eating. Behind him, before the door closes, you see that dawn is just beginning to break. "Morning Jordane!" Motely calls out. "I'll have whatever you're fixing." He sits himself at your table and asks "We all good and ready?"

Flynn
Still half- asleep, Flynn says nothing, just picks at his breakfast between yawns. When breakfast is over, he seems more alert, checking his gear and stretching.

Wharram mumbles through a mouthful of sausage "Once I have tackled this fine breakfast, master Motely, you will have my full attention he washes the sausage down with a good swig of ale.

Loch
"Ready to go." Loch belches out as he finishes his hastily eaten meal. "Looking forward to stretching my legs a bit."

Motely explains that the walk to where he found the tracks will take about 30 or 40 minutes. The terrain is predominately plains with some copses of woods sprinkled here and there. You have been walking for about 20 minutes. Everyone please roll Perception.

Flynn is the first to see it but you all catch site of a large-ish creature moving off in the distance. It looks like a large brown bear but from this distance you can't be too sure.

Loch
Loch readies a javalin and tries to mentally mark landmarks near where he saw the beast to aid in locating its trail if we lose it.

Steady yo' han', my friend. If I remembers correct, dat's more beast dan we wan' to face. Dat ting is an howlbear, an' he be more den a match fo' us.
Flynn watches the beast carefully, hoping it moves on and ignores the group. He grips his trumpet tightly, his dark brown knuckles going off-white.
