Okay Art 0 (performance: drumming) it is.

I only picked it as I couldn't see him gazing hours at portraits or museum sculptures and harp or cello didn't quite fit somehow.

Sure I can work the skill in during some critical moment.

Just to say thanks to Arnwulf for swapping - glad you're still drumming. :)

There is a genuine reason for the trade, not just adding a quirk to a character: Nālani will use the Art/Holography to benefit the ship, promise.

I'm allowing the Gun Combat skill to be split Pistol/Rifle or Slug/Energy by player preference.

Pistol allows Slug Pistols and Energy Pistols
Rifle allows Slug Rifles (inc Shotguns) and Energy Rifles

Slug allows Slug Rifles and Slug Pistols and Shotguns
Energy allows Energy Rifles and Energy Pistols

But one person (if sensible) slices one way or the other, not both.

Does that make sense?

So, no pistols? They're concealable. What is a military-grade weapon?

If we are former military, do we have waivers for some of these restrictions?

Ah Texas!

Auto-Rifles, SMG, Gauss Rifles, ACRs, Grenades, Heavy Weapons, Artillery, WMD, and (at one point) Bagpipes.

And while ex-military may have exemptions in their home state, you are in a different country at the moment.

So, select-fire, gauss, and area effect weapons (including bagpipes). Got it. :)

For the avoidance of doubt...If it wasn't a mustering out benefit, and it's either above TL-10 or illegal at Law Level 5 I reserve the right of veto!

Even if it's stored at the starport.

That is not to say I can't be talked round with a good story though.

I see the split in your determination of weapons and choose in my character generation to gain both skills.

This was done so that in Term 1 Police he learned to use Pistols 0 (slugs/energy) as a basic training skill then via connection with Tiberius on the shooting range upgraded this to Pistols 1.

Upon joining marines and his promotion he gained
GC - Rifles (slugs/energy) 1.

So he has level 1 in both ammunition types.

I overlooked his Heavy Weapons tree as he could take HW Artillery 0 as his service skill (add this yo my skill matrix) and learn HW Turrets 1 as term training.

Heavy Weapons: 0 is implied for all Heavy Weapons Sub-Categories from Heavy Weapons(X):+1 in a specific category.

Oh. Ok I understood that different. So learning Gun Combat 0 as a service skill gives him 0 in all four fields pistol/slugs/rifle/energy.

Then he specialized to gain the upgrade to 1 firstly in the police then in the army. That is fine.

I will have to look at the other 0 basic training and service skills as for example Drive covers a multitude of types. (Track, Wheeled, Mole) etc.

I will look through the skills section and add the 0 level to my list and note any level 1 specifics.
