Project discussion
Re: Project discussion
Okay yokels and yokettes, here's a proposal for what y'ins have done, and maybe to kickstart it up again a little bit.
So we talked about maybe making this a part of Knights & Knaves Alehouse's new ezine, that never got off the ground.
I've been involved with an (AD&D focused) RPG ezine called & Magazine. It's available for free download here: www.and-mag.com
I talked with the editors there about publishing this collaborative town and they were into it. And they are on Issue #7 of a quarterly mag, so it's not an idea that will die on the vine.
I'm not sure how it will work, or what the process will be of getting into the magazine (I'm guessing it won't be Issue #8) but having a ready-made town is a good tool for a DM.
What say you all?

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Re: Project discussion
I think this is a great idea too. What do we have to do next, Ron?

Re: Project discussion
We have to wrangle what we want to submit into a WORD doc and then I'll submit it to the editors. Anybody really good with the cut and paste?
We can also talk, off board if that makes folks more comfortable, about how to credit folks as well.

Re: Project discussion
I can spend a little time between Christmas and New Years day and cut and paste it all into a document.

Re: Project discussion
Awesome. If you can't get to it let me know and I could probably work on it some after New Years.

Banks are more suited for populous cities; this is more bordering on village/small town.Dizlexus wrote:Where is this project? There is no bank in this town! Oh my.

Re: Project discussion
I'd be happy to try and create something I'm just not sure what just this second. It appears there are plenty of inns/taverns. So not one of those. Perhaps a Mining company??

Re: Project discussion
That's cool wolfpack. I hear the words money lender and my mind goes immediately to Mirt the money lender from Waterdeep.

Re: Project discussion
Just curious, has anyone actually role-played a brothel? Not like that, but at all? How would a DM handle a players request if a character indicates their intent to frequent such an establishment?ednichols wrote:I was actually look and going where is the brothel?
I realize this question is off-topic, so feel free to move, but I am curious.
Re: Project discussion
Unless it has direct relevance to the story line or quest, it isn't something I'd include in a game I ran or want to try and role play in a game I played. Players come up with enough distractions on their own; no need to add to it. Nor do I feel any need to play out PbPexting with anyone else.dmw71 wrote:Just curious, has anyone actually role-played a brothel? Not like that, but at all? That's just my opinion, though.

Re: Project discussion
I knew this was a odd question but yes there has been "Brothels" in some of my tabletop games with my old HS buddies. A half-orc got into a lot of trouble in one of our sessions and we had to break him outta jail after his brothel visit. Lets just say they were unkind to him and he didn't approve so he decided it was a good idea to make an ugly woman his words "prettier" by using a torch to her face.... town guards don't like that and neither did the proprietor of the establishment or her guards.dmw71 wrote:Just curious, has anyone actually role-played a brothel?
